It had to be a matter of days until the completely absurd hysteria over Pokemon and proximity to Sex Offenders hit Florida. We were actually surprised that the ignoramus in New York hit on it before Florida, but better late than never, right?

Wednesday, Palm Beach County’s CBS affiliate, CBS12 ran an “investigative report” and found an “alarming” number of registered citizens living near PokeStops.

For those who don’t know, Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game people play on their smartphones, where they travel around trying to catch fictional “Pokemon” on a map.

The game was neither created, invented, nor developed by sex offenders. As such, sex offenders have no control over where the fictional characters are.

To date, there have been no reported instances of sexual assaults associated with the playing of the game (though there have been reports of people walking off cliffs, into the paths of oncoming cars, crossing international borders, etc.)

The report states, “CBS12 Investigates went on the hunt—not for Pokémon but for registered sex offenders living next to PokéGyms and PokéStops.”

As if the registered citizens had anything to do with where the fictional characters are!!!

As if registered citizens want creepy CBS12 “hunting” anywhere near their homes!!!

Wonder how long it will be until some legislator proposes a bill to create a sex offender proximity ordinance relating to “PokeStops”? Probably not long, because right behind that they will need to create something to protect the more vulnerable Ms. PacMan!
