Registrant Travel Action Group in Washington DC to Fight for Our Right to Travel

Registrant Travel Action Group (http://registranttag.org/), the National RSOL affiliate focused on protecting the travel rights of registered citizens, is in Washington DC to pound the pavement, speak to legislators and fight for our right to travel.

As reported, in recent weeks the Senate passed a bill (the International Megan’s Law) that would severely impede the rights of registered citizens to travel internationally and expose them to potential danger when traveling.

Among other things; the bill would authorize the government to notify other countries of a registrant’s intent to travel there (for any purpose, including business or to visit family), the bill would authorize the government to cancel the passports of registered citizens and the bill would require registered citizens’ passports be branded with an identifier that they are sex offenders (think Nazi Germany).

We are pleading with you again to contact your representatives in Washington, encouraging them to vote AGAINST this horrible bill (to see how, visit: http://floridaactioncommittee.org/urgent-call-to-action-international-megans-law/)

We are also inviting and encouraging you to contact Registrant TAG to report any incidences you have had when traveling outside the US and/or to schedule meetings in Washington. You can contact Paul with Registrant TAG at the following:

    UPDATE
    From Paul
    Thursday, January 07, 2016 3:13 PM
Update on RSOL/RTAG , HR 515 on Capitol Hill

We had a productive day. NO Intel yet on disposition of bill.

We met with staffers whose Rep sponsored or cosponsored HB 515 or is on the House Foreign Relations Committee using the talking points
and giving them a copy of a letter sent to the Speaker by Janice Bellucci. List below:

    Rep Smith
    Rep Royce
    Rep Sires
    Rep Hartzler
    Rep Parsi
    Rep Issa

We also stopped by most of the co sponsors offices and many of the Foreign Affairs committee members to chat and give copies of talking points, etc. Trying to get more appointments tomorrow.

This is by far the scariest thing out there. Definitely, reminiscent of Nazi Germany. The Nazi’s were very experimental, and first started the labels with one group then with another group and another. etc. etc. If a group’s right of liberty to travel is impeded or suppressed, then not one single American is safe from such laws. it will catch and spread like a virus to all Americans at some point and in some form. The world has already expressed their shocked at the some of the things that go on in this very country. Especially with sex offender laws.
