Ron Book DUI: Dashcam Video Released
The dash-cam video of lobbyist Ron Book’s failed DUI field sobriety test has been released to the media. The video shows a clearly impaired Book barely able to walk a straight line – let alone drive a vehicle! It is frightening to think of the high risk to the public that this menace could have caused!

how many children could he have ran over with a high profile Lamborghini..What about the person in the other vehicle whom he crashed into and could have killed? How many children could he have left with out a parent? How many lives impacted with sorrow and tragedy all by the reckless actions of an unrepentant killer behind the wheel….
…But by all means ignore the elephant in the room.. we need to ostracize consensual sex, inflatable dolls, honeymooners necking on the beach, children for playing doctor, and teenagers for exploring teenage hormones, and young 15 to 24 consensual relationships…Yes sir ieeeee BOB those are the big threats to society..lock em up and throw away the key..brand them with scarlet letters on their foreheads, passports, drivers licenses and identifications…..lets make some more registry’s,sun down laws, jim crow legislation and blanket “civil” incarcerations……the hypocrisy….not one thing has changed in America from the burn em some witches days except the title of those they call witches…
When a person has personal problems, they tend to “act out”. Psychologists call ” ‘acting – out’ behavior” that which disrupts a person’s general routine because of psychic distress.
My guess is that Ron Book fully understands the distress and discomfort and HELL that he has caused to so many people (and our entire society) through his insane scheme of revenge and personal animus.
How sad!
His better nature is taking over (despite his overt feelings of malice and hatred).
Yes, his sense of conscience is telling him how EVIL he has been – AND what a shitheel he has been to so many for so long!!!!!!!
It (his inner voice – his conscience ! ! ) is telling him that it is time to act out … It is time to rebel, to “CRY FOR HELP”
“DAMN THE TORPEDOS!!”, whines his stricken conscience!
Poor, SAD creature!!!!! Poor SAAAAAAADDDD Creature!!!
Surely not the first time he’s done this. Probably not even the worst he’s been. He just got caught this time. Poor bastard will probably never have to experience the joys of lifetime registration. Pity that. No one would deserve it more. Menace to society, that one.
“An average drunk driver has driven drunk over 80 times before first arrest.”

Thanks FAC for posting this. I watched and am appalled. His excuse of having cancer and being on many meds is a voluntary admission on the news that he was driving while impaired. What an asshole!
I hope Deryk, the victim takes Ron Book to the cleaners. Ron Book showed absolutely no remorse for his actions that could have killed Mr. Rivera and placed many others at risk of injury of death. Mr. Book has a history of reckless driving.
Ron felt this dash can video could help him? Something tells me that is not going to be the case.
Yes, I feel your thoughts completely. No apology just excuses. I hope that the law is able to be applied to Mr. Book because his actions also pose a danger to society and the public should know when the “pot is calling this kettle black” you get me ?
I refuse to take any glee in seeing him like this. Obviously I disagree vehemently with his stance on the registration issue but only hope this teaches him not to judge others.
Your hope is futile…Ron is a narcissistic sociopath who is incapable of feeling empathy. We are his meal ticket and I am sure he considers HIMSELF lucky that Lauren was abused as it provides a nice little racket for them BOTH!
The masses are starting to wake up however and while the registry is nothing more than decades of additional monitoring/confinement/punishment there should be a reasonable way off – especially those of no risk (the VAST majority)! But Florida is one of a 4 states with lifetime registry for peeing in an alley!?! WHY???
Money, that is why.
Don’t be so naive this man is a felon and still judges other people.
Its admirable you want to take the high road but he won’t be joining you on it.
I don’t understand…
If Ron Book is a convicted felon, then how is it that he is a lawyer and a lobbyist?
He is not a convicted felon. He was convicted of misdemeanors. Please take some of the poster’s comments with a grain of salt.

I guess he’s not a felon but he has quite the rap sheet and more convictions than me.
Registrant—-
Very detailed article thank you. No honest person could possibly back Ron Book after reading his biography. He is a con man to be sure. One thing he even admitted that stands out is his desire to win at all costs . He has no morals to that end. Nether does anyone who takes has money and follows him. Even murder is on his ok list. Watch your back .
On another subject . Clarence Thomas S.C. Judge has made several comments lately about the need to reverse some old decisions made by the court, to make them more in line with the constitution. In my opinion the registry needs to be on that list. He mentioned these other decisions were made because of political reasons not constitutional ones. Is that not also the case with the registry?
Also, the right to lobby the government is included in the 1st Amendment, meaning one doesn’t have to be a lawyer to lobby Congress. Would think all states, Florida included, guarantee the same in their constitutions.
But the reality, of course, is that you have to register in order to lobby. And even if you do, most officials won’t pay you much mind unless you come bearing gifts.
Also, even if he does get a felony conviction here, odds are the lobby registration rules would be amended to accommodate him. And I’m pretty sure the suspension or revocation of his law license won’t dent his pockets too seriously. Most of his activities (at least the public ones) don’t require a bar license or membership in good standing as far as I know.
I am wondering about the implications of refusing a field sobriety test. I have a vague memory that there are severe consequences for not taking the breathalyzer. Anyone?
Michigan’s Law
If arrested for drunk driving in Michigan, you will be required to take a chemical test to determine your bodily alcohol content (BAC). Under Michigan’s Implied Consent Law, all drivers are considered to have given their consent to this test. If you refuse a test, six points will be added to your driver record and your license, or non-resident operating privilege, will be suspended for one year. A suspension of a license, or non-resident operating privilege, is automatic for any refusal to submit to the test. This is a separate consequence from any subsequent convictions resulting from the traffic stop. If you are arrested a second time in seven years and again unreasonably refuse the test, six points will be added to your driver record and your license, or non-resident operating privilege, will be suspended for two years. If you refuse to take the test under the Implied Consent Law or if the test shows your BAC is 0.08 or more, your Michigan driver’s license will be destroyed by the officer and you will be issued a 625g paper permit to drive until your case is resolved in court.
