RTAG's International Travel Matrix

Registrant Travel Action Group (RTAG – www.registranttag.org), an RSOL affiliate organized to protect the international travel rights for lawful travel of registrants, is putting together a travel matrix, to serve as a snapshot guide to warn which countries you may have difficulty traveling to.

Since the US is now sending out travel alerts whenever a registered citizen travels, you need to be mindful of issues you may have at certain borders.

The below matrix is a work-in-progress and if you have traveled internationally as a registered citizen, we ask that you share your experience with RTAG (good or bad), so that information can be shared.

I see, Japan is listed under Europe and Asia above, clearly a typo, that’s all. Great work none-the-less

Thank you – I am curious also because I remember a couple of years ago reading about an RSO that was held in a hotel and then sent home in Japan

This is very helpful. Are all of these reports for travel post-IML? I would really like to see how many reports were included in each country, like how many people got into Spain or didn’t get into Nicaragua and when.

I was turned away from the philippines in 2012 before IML and the passport identifier. I was going to marry my now wife. I don’t think you will be able to get into Philippines any longer. Before the identifier you probably could have gone to hong kong and bought a ticket to Philippines. I’m married and haven’t been able to get back into Philippines. Have heard there is a way to petition for family exemption but we tried without a lawyer and were denied.

We live apart and have for almost 10 years. It’s the hardest thing to be forced to live away from the person you love so much. The registry has ruined my life and I would argue to the end with anyone who says it isn’t punishment.

We have traveled to Barbados and Hong Kong in the past to see each other. Covid really screwed up traveling.

They say it’s not punishment but the awa removes your right to petition immigration to bring someone to the USA. You have to request a waiver that from my understanding pretty much no one gets to bring someone to the US.
