SB 212 is on the Judiciary Committee agenda for tomorrow – Write these Senators TODAY!

Senate Bill 212 is on the Judiciary Committee agenda to be heard Tomorrow, February 10, 2026. This is a horrible bill that would not only add “public swimming pools” and “public bathing areas” to the 1000 foot residency restrictions, but would add a 200 foot proximity ban (retroactively), meaning you cannot go anywhere within 200 feet of a school, park, playground, daycare, public swimming pool or public bathing area. We’ve had a CALL TO ACTION posted to the top of our website containing the details, but below, for easier reference, are the Senators on the Judiciary Committee that you need to contact today. This is something that will cost you nothing, will take only a few minutes of your time, and can ensure that your voice (along with many others) will be heard. Please do not think ‘others are going to do their part so I don’t need to’. You absolutely need to! Even if it is one sentence letting the Senators know you Oppose SB 212, it counts towards making strong opposition known.

Hello Everyone, I have something to say related to this topic but before I do I would like to say that I feel the National “Clean Act” bill that U.S. Representative Greg SteubeI released yesterday was not by accident. It was done purposely as a “Smoke Screen” to get our community not just in Florida but in the whole country to take our eye off of what’s going on right here in our state. The guy is from Florida and I’m sure has been contacted by our wonderful state reps looking for a distraction because of all the pushback that they have been getting not just by our Florida community, but our community all over the country and by doing so thinks we will just turn our attention to his extremly Draconian bill. While we should ALL fight that bill, We need to keep the heat on our state representatives and not waiver as they assume we will. That being said, I noticed they removed the 200′ exclusion zone, which is Great, however we have to keep fighting to get the restricted locations bill removed in its entirety and better yet, the whole bill squashed. The State of Florida thinks that they can change one thing and we will just lay down and take what they give us but we need to keep flooding them with calls and emails so they can truly see we are united and will not settle for this Unconstitutional and Draconian law that was written in the name of “Public Safety” which we know is absurd. We Need to All continue to push this united front as they further seek to take away what little freedom we have left. They need to know that we are not second rate citizens but are human beings that at one point in our lives made a mistake, just like they and anyone else have, and have paid our dues to society and we are done being the poster boy/girl of fear they try so hard to instill on others. I know this is scary for all of us, it always is, but at some point enough is enough. I don’t know how some of you cope with fear, but I personally Pray and have faith that God will make all of this right while we are here, and I pray that he will open the eyes of these state representatives, especially the ones who call themselves Christians, to see that Grace should be shown to us, especially when you’ve gone years and years without any re-offending and have proven yourself to be a model citizen. You want to be a Christian, the whole point is to be more like Christ. We ALL fall short, even the ones that represent us. God Bless You All and Remember to Fight! Fight! Fight!

Well said. My only judge is God. Those here on earth can say all thet want about SOR. Just like you said. We paid our dues. We all make mistakes. I turn it over to God and asked for forgiveness. No one and I mean no one to stop me from serving my Lord. I am fully involved in my church. My lead pastor new me has I was 17 and now 47. I has to meet with him to tell him my situation what happen. He truly forgave me. I felt the love of God from him. My lead pastor doesn’t have one concern about me at all. He allows me to serve and pray for others. This is so out of hand how they want to try to make us live in fear. Well I got one thing to say. I won’t live in fear. I have God on my side. He has my back. Thanks for sharing your words. God Bless.

Amen! Thank you for sharing. I was 18 and about to turn 47. My adjudication was withheld and I was also sentenced under the Youthful Offender Act and that was in 2000. Back then it was only 10 years after release to be able to petition the court for relief if you were sentenced under the youthful offender Act and I had a plea agreement for two years house arrest and 4 years probation but finished 2 years early. So I was done in 2004 and then they change the laws not too long after and they keep doing it. Any new law passed should NOT count towards people who are already sentenced and is a direct violation of ex post facto. They know that this is punitive and the fact that there is the threat of prison and not just a fine as the punishment for a simple mess up is proof, yet somehow they continue to get away with it and we all suffer. BUT GOD sees everything and for us believers and followers of Christ, that have repented and truly turned our lives around, we will be vindicated and for that I give God all the glory! Until then we keep fighting and Never Stop! In the end we will be victorious whether it’s in this life or Heaven! Stay Strong and faithful! Let us pray for the ones who continue to persecute us and ask God to open their eyes to see the error in their ways and to remind them we are all sinners. El Shadi please let them see We have served our time just like others that have committed crimes and don’t deserve to keep getting resentenced over and over again. We ask you to make a way even when we can’t see it. Please bless all your children that are affected by these laws and give us peace knowing that you have a place for us in the end…In Jesus Name! Amen! Amen! Amen!

          Not a door matt

I was one of the first groups in Florida to be put on the registry in 1997. My crime was in 1990. I was retroactively placed on it, as many others did. I have been off of probation for 23 years now, with no light at the end of the tunnel. I am in my 60s now and do not want to die on the registry, but if we cannot win against at least those who were retro-actively applied, many of us will be on the registry well after we die.

      @ not a door mat

The original registry started out with just a few requirements as approved. Over the years, literally 100s of proposals, laws, bills etc. have been aimed at those on the registry. It has gotten so bad that even law enforcement sometimes do not know what to do.
An example of a real situation, I got pulled over once for going 4 miles over the speed limit (Which is ridiculous) and the officer called FDLE once he found out I was on the registry. He called them to find out if there was any way to get an arrest on me since I was on the registry.
An hour later, sitting on the side of the road, he released me without a ticket or any consequences. Somehow, the FDLE did their job and did the right thing and I did not end up with any other problems stemming from a stop that was done by a license plate reader, not because I committed a crime.
Each new session, the law makers have nothing better to do but to make sure there is some sort of new bill to make our lives Hell. NONE of these restrictions and ordinances are for anyone except those on the registry, however, everything that has to do with the registry, DOES affect our families, as they have to live the consequences as well because of where we can live, be or go. Finally, I sometimes feel like a leper who is shunned by the masses.

First, you are not a lepar and I completely understand why you would feel that way. The laws are designed to try and make you feel that way. I see all these posts about the big bad boogie man SO especially around the holidays. These Police departments go out of their way to post pictures in the name of “public safety” and the comments are horrendous. They classify us all the same and the uneducated people are sheep and are being led by a fear mongering shepherd. I have screenshot after screenshot of comments posted of threats of violence towards these individuals that are posted, even murder, and I keep them in case anything happens. Problem is the police department just allows those kind of comments even though the law says you’re not supposed to be able to use our flyers to commit violence and it should extend to threats of violence. At the least they should be personally warned (Physical visit by an officer) and a citation made at the department. Heck, how about a warning in the comment section to the people that are saying it? Furthermore FDLE should be monitoring these posts as well since they have no problem monitoring everything we do. They don’t care about us and they’ve made sure that the people don’t either. They know that No one is going to cry if a crime is committed against us….Except for our familys and our community on here. I will say this though, if anyone comes around my house and threatens me and my family, they’re in for a rude awakening. Whoops, better be careful because I’m sure they’re reading! Sorry Not Sorry! I will not be intimidated any longer! Jesus brings me Joy and Peace throughout it All and they can never take that from me no matter how hard they try. No matter what we must keep fighting back, keep writing, calling and making our voices heard! Don’t let these horrible circumstances dictate your peace and no matter what Do Not Give Up! It’s what they want. Have a Blessed Day!

John 16:33: “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Hoping FAC will allow my post below to be cross-posted here.

It looks like the Judiciary Committee substitute for the Senate bill (subst. #764964) has changed the 200 foot exclusion zone to exclusion from “the premises” of schools, parks, etc.
