Scotland: Killer attacked fellow inmate ‘after discovering sex offence’
Robert Letham attacked XXXX XXXX after sneaking up behind him as he read a newspaper while both were in HMP Perth.
Explaining the background to the slashing, defence advocate Kevin Jarvis stated: “He tells me that what brought this incident about is that (Sinclair) was known to be a sex offender – he knew that through news articles and others. “His position is he had tried to raise concerns about him to others regarding him being among the main prisoners rather than a separate unit for sex offenders. When these concerns were not addressed, he took upon it himself to try and send a message, as it were, which was wholly disproportionate.”

When I was in prison,we had a few guards that would go around and antagonize the other inmates by saying there are 4 sex offenders in this unit,you all need to find them…prison sucks already.do we need antagonizing guards as well? do your job,that’s it!why stir the pot?
Why are murders released into society after serving their time with No Registry?? They are more likely to result then Most on sex registry because of the “Wide Net” that entrapped some on registry.
Lord, Please remove the registry as it now stands. Please bring healing and deliverance to those wrongly on it.

Amen! I agree. Something, somewhere at sometime, the dam has got to break and open the flood gates.
I think the only way this will end is for everyone on the planet to be on some sort of registry. Bad judge registry, bad cop registry, bad teacher registry etc.
And yes, I agree we do NOT need more registries, but my point is, what will it take for some sanity to kick in?

There was one here in Florida where he was stabbed 6 times a few years ago. Not sure exactly when but I can get the details cause I know the person who was stabbed. He was given a 10 year plea bargain but refused it. He’s now doing 2 life terms. He said he almost wished he had died.
Do not know if the inmate killer was in on a life sentence, but if not, at the very least, he should get a life sentence, or the death penalty. Seems he had no other connection with the man he killed so this was also a hate crime.
I know overseas things are different than in the U.S but hope the deceased gets some justice.
