Seminole deputy accused soliciting sex from teen

The Orlando Sentinel reported last week that officer David Rodriguez, Seminole County Sheriff’s Deputy, was caught soliciting sex from a 17 year old. Apparently, the two knew each other from martial arts tournaments and connected over Facebook, where the police officer sent sexually charged messages and arranged for meetings to have sex.

Let’s monitor this one VERY closely and see how it winds up. Will the law enforcement community protect their own and allow him to plead to something that does not require registration?!? We’re about to find out…

Good News, Bad News for Officer David Rodriguez of Seminole County, Florida

Congratulations to deputy David Rodriguez and his wife of Seminole County Florida on the birth of his newborn baby on July 9.

To celebrate his growing family, deputy David Rodriguez solicited a minor for sex. The deputy had known the girl since she was six years old, and he started texting her sexually explicit messages when she was 16.

Her father reported him after finding messages on her computer. The teen states she tried to discourage Rodriguez. Rodriguez’s family owns Kumite Karate in Longwood, where the deputy met the girl.
