Shocking: third Louisville police officer has pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a minor

The registry has us believing that those individuals on this list are the ones society needs to be careful of, when in reality more than 95% of sex offenses are committed by someone NOT on the list and in MANY cases the perpetrator is someone in a position of trust, such as a relative, family friend, teacher, coach or even police officer.

In Louisville, KY, A third Louisville Metro Police officer has pleaded guilty to sexual abusing a minor while serving as a mentor in the department’s youth Explorer program. But that’s not why this story is shocking. What’s shocking is that after a minor claimed that the officer abused her in his police cruiser and sought sexual pictures and acts from her and the officer admitted to the conduct, prosecutors are only seeking 6 months in jail.

Where is the Statutory Language that Mandates a Law Enforcement Officer, who has been convicted of a Sexual Offense, not to be listed on The ‘Hit List’; where is the Proof in Statutory Laws?

    Thanks

He will not be on the registry because he is a cop, and the cop’s bill of rights excludes their name from any list. Surprised?

Well, yes and no. If required to be on the registry cops will not be placed on the public registry, they will be on a registry only available to law enforcement..like it use to be for all. And the reason for this..get this.. is because if a former cop is placed on a public registry there may be more chance that someone, a vigilante, may cause them harm! Yea, its for real!

A cop will be placed on the registry if he is convicted of a registerable offense. There is no private sex offender registry set aside separately for former cops.

Just ask any former cop on the registry and they’ll tell you.

      Dear T&S,

What you posted is false. There are plenty of ex-cops on the public registries across this nation. There are some folks who regularly post in this forum who are ex-cops but are now forced to register. Nobody is safe from the registry plague.

Only 6 months?! If he wasn’t cop he would’ve got 10 years or more.

What is even more upsetting is that he probably won’t need to Register “for his safety”…what a corrupt system.

Its apparent that there are different people using the name Bill here. I personally agree with the Bill who pointed out that even ex-cops convicted of a sex offense are required to register. I served prison time with two of them. I disagree with the other Bill who said “What is even more upsetting is that he probably won’t need to Register “for his safety”…what a corrupt system.” I know you are wrong for the forgoing reason of having been in prison with two ex-cops who are registered in Louisiana and Georgia for pornography offenses.
