Six Years for Arson, $20K Bond, But Forget to Update Your Registration and It’s a Whole Different Story

Yesterday, Nathan D. Pyron of Sterling, Illinois, was sentenced to six years in prison for arson after intentionally setting fire to the home of a person on the sex offender registry. Pyron had been out on just $20,000 bond since his arrest in July of 2023. Six years for deliberately burning down someone’s home. intending to cause him serious injury or death!?!?

Now, contrast that with what we’ve been reporting on this past week. Individuals on the registry are facing 10+ years in prison not for committing a new sex offense, but for technical, often unintentional registration violations. In one recent example, a person was hit with a staggering $950,000 bond simply for failing to register a storage unit they were reportedly sleeping in.

Let that sink in. On one hand, you have an intentional act with intentional and real risk to human life — met with a comparatively modest bond and a six-year sentence. On the other, you have paperwork-related offenses often rooted in confusion, poverty, or instability—being treated with a level of severity that rivals or exceeds serious felonies.

If hunting down a registrant and setting fire to their home draws less pretrial scrutiny and a shorter sentence than failing to properly document where you sleep, something in the balance seems… off.

I’m willing to bet that if the victim was not a registrant, the judge would have rejected the plea?

Portions of the judge’s pronouncements can be found in media reports on this case.

Btw the arresting officer was astonished was working with me after I got out he thought it was 7500 or so. Said himself that is unfair why he helped me with the DA and never trumped charged it was a paper felony nothing he put on my but the trap. Remember I also had to find someone to get 500 after the bond to secure the GPS monitor on bond a requirement in florida now and this was 300 a month to a GPS monitor company/bondsman for this. Could not get out until on my ankle so that was time in jail spent waiting for them to come do that initiation. I traced that gps company to a shell company that is linked to a mayor/senator too. Shows money path all linked too

Please share your findings on the monitoring company owned by the mayor and senator so that we can expose it.

Frank Kopczynski was never a mayor nor senator. It’s very important that if we share something on here, it is truthful and accurate. The same thing we expect from others, we need to expect from ourselves. If we share misinformation, it undermines our credibility.

An arsonist named Pyron? That is too perfect!

Did you notice that Pyron will be required to register in Illinois’ Arsonist Database?

In the meantime, I hope that during his time in prison, Pyron will be housed with many of the state’s sex offenders.

You think? I’ve been preaching this for awhile. The US is no longer a just country, it’s whatever lawmakers, politicians, and judges deem it. They’re not our allies, and friends.
