Our nation’s capital could be getting residency restrictions for persons with past convictions for sex offenses. According to the following news reports, after several registrants were found living within 1000 feet of a school (which is not illegal), the district’s top prosecutor is looking to create a law banishing them.

Is there ANY evidence that registered sex offenders while on the registry have recently offendered in any parks or near schools. She stated that 2 were in violation. Be specific did they just violate their registration requirements or did they commit a new crime in a park or near a school? If they had committed an actual crime she would have gave colorful detail to push the fear.

She did not accuse them of re-offending.

if residency restrictions that just broad stroke apply to everyone of a certain designation really worked and could pass constitutional muster why aren’t they enforced for everyone? seems a no brainier here .drunk drivers and other alcohol related not allowed to live or work around alcohol establishment drug convictions not allowed around pharmacy’s, or places known to have drugs, theft charges not aloud in banks or shopping establishments that could be known to encouraging their weakness or behavior.

If you would have added that convicted arsonists not be allowed to reside within 1000 feet of something flammable, you could have almost directly quoted what I have been saying for about 10 years now.
