ACLU Supreme Court Event:
Earlier this summer, the Supreme Court’s term came to an end along with the tenure of one of the nation’s most consequential jurists — Anthony M. Kennedy. Interested in how the Supreme Court’s decisions affect your civil liberties? Join our Broward Chapter on Monday, August 13 for a SCOTUS recap and Q&A session.
Presentation and Q&A session: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
The 2017 term saw a decisive shift on the bench and the court decided on a range of historic cases that significantly expanded as well as contracted our fundamental rights. We will be joined by Dan Cook, ACLU of Florida and Broward Chapter board member, who will recap the Supreme Court term and its impact on religious liberty, police practices, immigrants’ rights, and many more issues. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
We hope you can join us for this important conversation. RSVP to [email protected] to let us know if you can make it. Refreshments will be provided.
See you on August 13 in Pompano Beach.
