Supreme Court denies cert in all three cases we were following.

The SCOTUS has denied the Petition for Writ of Certiorai in all three cases we were following: Bethea, Vasquez and Prison Legal News.

Being picked is an extreme long shot (less than 1% of cases) but disappointing nonetheless.

What this means is that we need to persist in these challenges on our own.

Does anyone have a really good comprehensive site or link with countries that S.O.s with a lower type of offense (travelling to meet minor with no victim) can expatriate to once off of probation?

      Anon,
I would like to inform you that you’re on the hit list and a member of the price club just like so many of us! you can try to minimize all you want since i guess that may make you feel better but the bottom line is you’re a convicted sex offender! stop trying to separate yourself out and think that you’re less of a felon then others!

Wow @concerned that was so relentlessly unhelpful and quite spiteful. You see “friend” in the context of my post a travelling to meet a minor is considered a lower tier offense (tier 1).

Unfortunately in this beautiful society everyone enjoys being offended so quickly that it has become a national past time.

I ask once again if anyone has any USEFUL information specifically on countries that lean towards expatriating to please reply with a good link.

        Thank you.

I’m sorry I just now noticed that you already have the three cases posted. Can you please tell me the decisions made before they were denied by the Supreme Court? Thank you.

You can search the cases on our site using the search function. They have been covered extensively.

Have to keep hoping that, as more and more cases involving the same subject matter come before the Court, they will realize that registration laws are devastating individuals and families, while having no real effect on public safety. We are part of the public too. We also deserve protection from unfair discrimination and vigilantism.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in their chambers and know what they said or thought in that meeting when discussing those three cases. Hmm, maybe they are waiting for a more important or stronger case that can help change things significantly. I don’t know.
