SURVEY REGISTRANT RESPONSES ARE NEEDED: Economic Impact of the Sex Offender Registry

Our names are Dr. Jennifer Klein and Dr. Danielle Bailey and we are both Assistant Professors at the University of Texas at Tyler. As you know, we have been collecting data for a project that analyzes the economic impact of the sex offender registry on those individuals required to register. At this point, over 700 registrants have volunteered for the study and shared their stories with us.  Due to high interest in our study, we are extending the collection deadline for the survey responses to Friday, March 1st. We appreciate your support in the survey data collection thus far, and we would like to request that you repost this invite to your members with the extended deadline. We are committed to learning more about what experiences come with being a registrant and we think that this extended deadline will allow more registrants to share their stories.

Please access the survey through the following link: https://uttyler.az1. qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ 3mx7fwjKln9ujL7 or https:// bit.ly/2OnHRyo

If you need a paper survey due to Internet restrictions, please see the following attachment. You are welcome to mail it back to us at the following address:

Jennifer Klein or Danielle Bailey

3900 University Blvd.

Tyler, TX 75799

As a reminder, we are requesting that only registrants complete this survey. While we certainly acknowledge the economic impact that the registry has had on family members and loved ones, we are specifically trying to focus on registrants this time. Thank you for your understanding.

    Dear Riff Raff,

With all due respect, these studies are needed so that they will show up in cases that may help our cause. Imagine the scenario if nobody did anything. Would you or anyone else be in a better situation? Doubtful. Thanks to the doctors and FAC for their respective work on our behalf.

Why not go out to Register Offender camps in your own back yard and see what it is like. The data you are using would better from your own point of view. I am not experiment for you and others to examine under a microscope about having to register. Step outside your cozy offices and gather live data. I told my story once and it fell on deaf ears..

I don’t know what rock Riff crawled out from but he needs to go back under it. I’ve been on the registry for over 20 years and although I respect opinions I don’t agree with I have to intervene when false information and evilness is being spewed. I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for your studies and all others that can help show the pain and punishment I deal with every day because of this registry.
Your damn right it affects me economically as well as EVERY other registrant. Keep up the studies and never stop. They’re desperately NEEDED!! THANK YOU.
Also I know that FAC is unbiased of what it posts when it comes to facts but this post from Riff isn’t no where close to factual, its 100% false. You need to watch this figure posing as Riff. What a hateful and misleading post.

Dear Dr. Jennifer Klein and Dr. Danielle Bailey, nobody that matters gives a rats ass about our stories or maybe you haven’t figured this out yet. [we have been collecting data for a project that analyzes the economic impact of the sex offender registry on those individuals required to register.] Really? People have been living under bridges ,on railroad tracks and the woods in make shift camps for 25 years. If I were you I would visit these squalid vile revolting insect infested encampments and survey the registrants there.Oh but wait, anybody that matters already knows about that.. Silly me. Not sure what to think about your endeavor. Self seeking or maybe you really care either way it don’t matter nothing will change.

People who should be surveyed most likely dont have access to this , or will they ever know about it.

If you cant survey the entire audience and instead focus on the few privileged few that can, it will skew results. Just ask the supreme court and the article they referenced as a source so many years ago that made this club legal.

Would you prefer for the world to continue to ignore you? You might wish to die lonely and alone but studies showing the registry hurts people like my own kids. Yeah, more of that
