The Absurdity Of Charging 10-Year-Olds As Sex Offenders

A ten-year boy has just been charged as a sex offender as a result of a schoolyard game of tag that got out of control. As reported by the local CBS news affiliate: “the fourth-grade students were playing a game of tag that escalated when a boy began making inappropriate comments and movements toward the girls. One of the boys also wrapped his arms around one of the girls.”

Obviously, this incident should not be dismissed as a “boys will be boys” prank. The comments were very sexually aggressive. The boys should be disciplined, and, even more importantly, taught the error of their ways. But charging a 10-year-old as a sex offender is a devastating, merciless response. The boy has been charged with a fourth-degree sexual offense. Even if he avoids prison time, under Maryland law someone convicted with a fourth-degree sexual offense will be put on a sexual offender registry for fifteen years. This casts serious doubt on whether he will ever go to college or find gainful employment.

This sort of devastatingly punitive treatment of children is not an anomaly and it destroys the lives of girls and boys alike.

Attorney General Barr got smeared by MSM for “strongly endorsing” Campus Rape Frenzy by professor K.C. Johnson and scholar Stuart Taylor that researched the due process problem campuses have had under previous admin. And provided empirical evidence. MSM, for years, had intentionally desired to lie about this problem. And anyone who tries share the facts about it gets ignored. And “smeared”. Times seem to be changing slowly, though. Here’s the article just to support the fact that what they did about Barr isn’t made up. I mean, I’d like an AG to see this problem for what it is, right? And not have giant media corporation do what they can to mess it up! What are they hiding?

Just goes to show how narrow-minded and insanely ignorant the people of Florida are along with other parts of the country.

New Registry Motto: Protecting Children By Putting Children On It ! I guess an infant and Mother who nurse at his/her/it breast gonna be on the registry because they/it nurse out in public or was seen from their window

I’ll bet that the parents of these kids who end up with sex offense charges and registration are the same parents who comment on other articles saying “Put a bullet in them!” Now they get to have a taste of the other side of the fence. Which I think the need as a wake up call, but I feel bad for the kids being destroyed.

All these children who won’t be able to go to places like Disney World or other theme parks which is what kids love to do.
Listen up everyone and FAC; Megan’s Law was originally supposed to be for child molesters like the man who obviously had mental issues who kidnapped, raped and then MURDERED Megan Kanka. It was NOT about publicly knowing if a teacher had an affair with a POST PUBESCENT teen or kids playing pranks or “mooning” someone you don’t like or “streaking” across a football field or skinny dipping or peeing in a bush.
This has got to be included in arguments that are against the registry.
To be informed of people like Jesse Timmendequas is understandable. But with his previous convictions for other child molestations, perhaps he should not have been out of prison or a mental institution without an evaluation first.
All the “criminal acts” I’ve mentioned above SHOULD NOT REQUIRE REGISTRATION. Period!
What can or will FAC try to do to argue these points?

It’s always stories like this that do not even offer a “comments section”.

Looks like typical corporation pattern. How do we normalize things we wouldn’t accept? Go for the young minds. And brainwash the new generation. Where they can then view this encroachment as “normal” and justified.
