Those who scream the loudest… update

A few months ago, we put up a post entitled “those who scream the loudest” in which we discussed Josh Duggar and former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, who were both very vocal proponents of laws designed to punish sex offenders and promote “family values”, but later it was discovered that they committed sex offenses themselves.

While shaming is something we’re not proud to do and, actually, something we stand very strongly opposed to, when someone goes out of their way to speak out against something they themselves are doing… well, they are just a hypocrite and we’ll use them to make a point.

Aside from the discovery a few months ago that Josh Duggar had been molesting children, including some of his sisters, comes this week’s discovery that he’s been cheating on his wife. He was one of the millions of people exposed when affair site Ashley Madison was hacked.

What’s the big deal, you ask? People have affairs… it’s not illegal…

Josh Duggar, who most may know as one of the “19 Kids and Counting” was also executive director of the Family Research Council, a conservative lobbying group in D.C.  which seeks “to champion marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society.”

While he spoke out against pre-marital sex… apparently extra-marital sex was OK in his mind. While he vocally opposed relations with someone from the  same sex… relations with someone from the same family he had no problem with. You get the picture.

We HATE that sexual abuse happens. We also hate that people do things that, while not illegal, are immoral and hurt their families and others. But unfortunately, despite anything anyone can do, these things will happen… and when they do… it couldn’t happen to a better person!

Good luck with your marriage, Josh!
