Treasure Island Registered Citizens to Get Their Own Cable Channel

As if the FDLE site wasn’t enough, or all the private online registries were not enough, or all the news channels that have their own registries, or all the for-profit extortion sites that post registrants’ information and charges a fee to remove it… the city of Treasure Island thinks it needs to advertise registrants on television.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that at a recent city commission meeting it was decided to broadcast information about the seven (yes, just seven) registered citizens in the city and dedicate a cable channel to the broadcast.

Actually the fact is most Big City Government Cable Access TV Stations have Law Enforcement Information such as Wanted Criminals and Sex Offenders that may be on the lam. In Florida The Sunshine Law allows public access of Government Information and the media uses it anyway they can for their own concerns.

“Commissioner Alan Bildz agreed, saying putting photos and personal information on TV of the sexual predators is “a feel good thing that doesn’t help at all.”
At least there is 1 politician with a voice of reason. Too bad it’s the minority.

What a dumb waste of resources and money. Nobody watches local government TV unless you are over 70 years old. LOL.Not even my grandmother watches that shit….People are getting off Television. We live in a digital world of streaming media content via Netflix and obsessed with downloading primetime award winning television series and movies. That commissioner Collins is an antiquated idiot. He says that knowing about 7 guys (who will most likely not bother anyone) is really important. I would love to know what he thinks of FAR more important issues such as global terrorism and ending global poverty or hunger while providing shelter and education to all…. Idiot !

The problem is that one 70 year old crazed old man next door may decide to take the law into their own hands.
