Upcoming legislative delegation meetings

Many FAC members are preparing to speak at the upcoming Florida delegation meetings which begin in November and run through February.  (Opening day of the 2025 Regular Session is Tuesday, March 4, 2025.)

Until a few years ago, our legislators were not hearing from many people on the registry, nor their family members.  That has now changed, and we want to keep the momentum going.

FAC has prepared five speeches to hopefully be read before every Florida legislator throughout the state.

Hours of work have been put in by many FAC members in identifying which county each legislator represents, writing numerous drafts of these speeches, developing a training video to assist people who will be reading a speech, and solicitation of and communications with prospective speakers.

More work is yet to come with some speakers reading a speech in ten or more counties.  You can speak in counties where you do not reside since you are a Florida citizen and have the right to be heard by our Florida legislators.

More information will be coming soon concerning these delegation meetings.

Maybe you can speak to them about the ruling where a judge stated “There has to be a path off of the registry” but then we go before a judge and they deny you, just because they can. Similar to those who are in prison past their sentences on a “Civil commitment” ruling.
If a judge had wanted me to have a life sentence, they should have given me that, but that is ok, the registry did it for them.

Thats the truth. I was 17 years old when I cought this case. I’m 51 now and still on the registry. It’s been nothing less than a life sentence. The registry didn’t exist when I went to court.
