Video of Volusia County Meeting
The Volusia County Council members voted on April 2, 2024, to extend the state’s 1000-foot residency restrictions to 1500 feet in the unincorporated parts of the county. Deland, Daytona Beach, and New Smyrna Beach already have 2500-foot residency restrictions.
Council member Don Dempsey deserves to be recognized for the effort he put in to trying to help the other council members see the futility of expanding their current residency restriction by 500 feet.

But I think it is not retroactive? Most new laws where you force someone to move because of the new restrictions have not held up to the courts.
Pretty soon we will all have to move to a cave to be left alone.
