WA: Sex offender group home at center of controversy vandalized

Before a single resident has even unpacked a bag, the real chaos has already begun — and it’s not coming from inside the house.

Over Valentine’s Day weekend, the proposed sex offender re-entry group home in Kennewick (Washington) was pelted with dozens of eggs. According to coverage by Apple Valley News, someone repeatedly targeted the property, leaving smashed shells splattered across the roof, windows, and siding. Empty cartons were scattered outside like calling cards. Images from the outlet’s YouTube video show a house “peppered” with eggs — vandalized before it has housed a single person.

Let that sink in: no one has moved in. No residents. No incidents. No crimes. Just a building — and already it’s being attacked.

Kennewick Police Department say they are investigating the vandalism. Meanwhile, new surveillance cameras have reportedly been installed around the home in recent days. The crime here isn’t theoretical — it’s active. And so far, the only unlawful behavior connected to this address appears to be coming from those trying to stop it.

Under Washington law, cities and counties cannot simply ban these types of group homes. Agencies like the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and the Washington State Department of Corrections determine placement. But while officials debate resolutions and try to come up with laws to block residents from moving in, something more telling is unfolding on the ground. A property that hasn’t even opened its doors is already the target of vandalism and violence. If this situation is meant to demonstrate who poses the immediate public safety threat, the evidence so far points in a direction few want to acknowledge. The threat is not coming from the residents!

I found even more info that is useful. There is a Facebook group called “SOCT Save Our Children – Tricities” and it has roughly 2900 followers/members. Their goal is targeting this group home. They have flown drones over the property as well, they organize weekly protests in which they have boasted even local officials have joined, and they’re raising money there’s a GoFundMe page) to sue the home & to fund the continued harassment.

I have done a little more digging. Tina Gregory ran last year in the Republican primary for District/Ward 1 of the Kennewick WA City Council and got third place with 848 out of 2863 votes. She’s no strager to this issue, either, apparently.

The one thing not mentioned here is that the lady being interviewed in that YouTube video said she was looking into filing a testraining order to prevent them from moving in.

It reminds me of the time former State Senator Lauren Book filed that bogus restraining order against me in an attempt to silence me. Restraining order laws are another area that needs serious reform.

So, a group of “former” offenders are being targeted by recent offenders? So, what is that saying, “The pot is calling the kettle black”? If you do not know what that saying means, it means the other group are hypocrites because they are now also criminals but pointing the finger at us for our past crimes. So they commit a current crime against us and that is ok?

Is being a former offender the same as being a former burglar or former carjacker or former manslaughter, etc like it never happened?

No, no.. calling it vigilantism is too dismissive and random . It looks more like a premeditated act of terror with malicious destruction of property along with hate being the motivation — > hate crime.

So now half-way houses are being targeted with hate crimes and acts of terror in the same fashion that abortion clinics and Muslim mosques are?

Hey, amigos… remember now… “it’s not supposed to be punishment.”

That’s exactly it…a hate crime that needs to be punished in return.

They can always say that it is not the intent of the registry to produce vandalism and therefore it is just collateral damage.

Then any outgrowth of it will be collateral damages and accepted by the ignorant
