Vicki Henry sits at the desk in her two-bedroom duplex on a recent Sunday morning and adjusts her phone headset, which she has nestled on hair with a deep magenta tinge, a rare bit of pizazz for the 72-year-old grandmother of three.
Everyone else in Henry’s working-class neighborhood of Arnold, a southern suburb of St. Louis, is probably at church or finishing up a pancake breakfast with the family. But Henry is on the clock for a job that pays her nothing.
She wears a baggy red T-shirt with “Women Against Registry” and the acronym “WAR” embroidered on it in white thread. Henry runs WAR, an organization whose goal is to abolish the public sex offender registries that exist in every state.

Someone recently posted on here that he/she calls a Registered Person (RP) a “Citizen Required to Register”. I can’t (easily enough!) find where that post was so I’m just posting a response here. Sorry about that.
I’ve been reading and writing a LOT about the illegal Registries for over 2 decades and I can’t actually recall seeing that label before! I find that surprising.
I think that it is very, extremely, critically important to brand the people who are listed on the Registries with some good, accurate label. “Registered Citizen” and “Registered Person” is being widely used. Those work fairly well for me.
But I’m not too keen on the “citizen” part. Obviously, RPs (including me) are not REALLY citizens. RPs are sub-citizens. Also, personally, I feel like the Registries themselves have nearly completely relieved me of my obligations to be a good U.S. citizen. That has been insanely liberating and I’ve really got no concern about being obligated again. Registry Nazis don’t think I’m a citizen and I’m happy to not have to care about acting like one.
But how about “Person Forced to Register”? PFR. It has nearly the connotations of CRR but I much prefer it. “Required” is way too nice for me.
I also like “Person Registered for Punishment, Restrictions, and Harassment”. PRPRH. I find that to be very accurate. Personally, I’m going to use one of these last two.
I think if the media, criminal legislators, law enforcement criminals, and the general public keep seeing such a label over and over and over again, from hundreds of thousands of people, for years, that it will make a really big difference. The Registry War is a PR war. Facts are not exceptionally important. Brain-dead people have little need for them.
Along these lines, I’m going to start attaching a “motto” of sorts to everything I post. Wouldn’t it be great if we could all use the same one? I’ve got to mess around and find something I like. I have been using what I will put here as the last paragraph. I like most of it but I’m not sure about the optics of framing the Registries as a huge pile of excrement. That is extremely accurate but I’m not sure I love it. Anyway, this is it:

They are nothing but harassment by out-of-control Nanny Big Government and the emperor never had any clothes. They are all liars.
I’ve watched the story of Mr. Book/Cook, and I can see that He never took responsibility for what happen to his daughter! If he would have spent more time at HOME! with his Family, instead of running from door to door of legislature offices trying to help Big Business get laws passed and lining his pockets with cash, he might have seen the signs of what was going on at home… He is destroying everyone’s life because of his family issues, He is the one who employed the Nanny from another country to come to America and watch his daughter. He paid her for that, We didn’t employ the woman, He Did…. He doesn’t take responsibility for anything!! So now people like me ,are tangled in this confusing web of laws and restrictions, that keep me down. I did my 10 years of Registration in Illinois, and because I’m in Florida, they choose to ignore Illinois law and say I have to continue registering for Life! “Because my Charge is similar to a charge in Florida that requires registration for life” even though it didn’t happen in Florida. This state is nuts, and now I could be looking at 22months in Prison next week for having a Facebook page that wasn’t reported to FDLE, “Technical Violation” why aren’t laws like this being aggressively challenged by everyone? I am removed form this requirement in the State of Illinois where the offense accrued, but Florida decides I should stay on it for life… That cant be right? So that means they can do that with ANY prior conviction they choose to do it with? to extend a Sentence?
This isn’t fair! I pray that someone can step up and change this, its NOT a dictatorship its AMERIC !!!
I wish I could find the RIGHT lawyer to challenge this statue that says a person like me has to continue registering because my Past conviction is “Similar to a Conviction in Florida” that requires life time registration. In order for Illinois to Give me 3 Years Probation and 10 Years Registration, and NOT Prison Time, that must mean something to the type of case I had? Why don’t they review that? before they made the determination to keep me on the registration for life here?

Drunken Ron Book/Crook is wrong, of course. People “cannot live with their full family intact” precisely because of him, the criminal legislators, and other scumbags. Precisely because of them. So he is wrong. Is that so obvious and clear that he is not just wrong, but a liar? I think so. He is not just wrong, he’s a liar.
People commit crimes. It is up to legitimate governments to decide and impose fair, proportional, and intelligent punishments upon them. There is absolutely no reason in any reality to impose a punishment of “cannot live with their full family intact” on people who have been convicted of $EX offenses. And only $EX offenses!!!! No reason.
Why is that same punishment not imposed on drunk criminals like Drunken Ron Book/Crook? Because it is safe to drive drunk to schools and parks? Or how about impose it on people who have shot people with guns AT schools?!! Why does Drunken Ron Book/Crook want shooters to live by schools, parks, and day care centers? Shocking.
Nope, Drunken Ron Book/Crook is a liar. He, and other “people” like him, are precisely the cause of “cannot live with their full family intact”. He’s not fooling anyone with a brain.
