All, a couple of weeks ago we warned that strong crackdowns were taking place across Florida (https://floridaactioncommittee.org/fac-weekly-update-2026-06-23-compliance-checks-and-registration-enforcement-across-florida/)
Today, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office announced the results of “Operation Silver Spur”, in which 126 registrants were arrested for technical violations such as vehicle reporting, internet identifiers, etc. For context, there are 667 registrants in Osceola County. That means 19% of the registrant population in the county was arrested – that’s nearly 1 in 5! (see: https://www.fox35orlando.com/news/operation-silver-spur-sex-offenders-back-behind-bars)
In Taylor County (who even knew there was a “Taylor County” in Florida) of the 78 registrants, 5 were arrested (6.4%) in another announcement today (https://fox49.tv/news/local/fdle-taylor-county-sheriff-arrest-five-in-3-day-sex-offender-compliance-sweep) and last week in Alachua, operation “Get ‘Em Gator”, got 25 (https://cbs12.com/news/local/operation-get-em-gator-nets-25-arrests-for-sex-offender-registry-violations-in-florida-fdles-missing-persons-and-offender-enforcement-division-jacksonville-regional-operations-center-gainesville-field-office-partnered-alachua-county-sheriffs-office).
We know some of these arrests, if not most, are for petty things, like an account you didn’t know you had to register or one that’s been dormant forever and you forgot about. Barely any are for new crimes (outside of registration violations). Just know this is taking place and make sure your family has the contact information to a defense attorney handy. There definitely appears to be a state-wide initiative to lock up as many registrants as possible, so please be vigilant!

ok spoke to my attorney and in a recent large number of arrest county there is an issue with someone on the police force that will be helping getting a bunch of these cases dropped.
FAC This upcoming case that will be getting filled is it possible to ask for an injunction on some of these laws while the case is pending as we know it will take years and many of use old timers don’t have a lot more time left on earth to keep dealing with this BS. thanks
and the rest of you’s stop hiding and start standing up. stop being ashamed or in isolation. tell your story educate the general public. like me someone lied about there age and we know you can’t use mispresenting of age as a defense. that is a bad law especially with today’s punishment and so-called civil laws. government has the general public so brainwashed saying there pervs, looking for kids, etc…
and i / we understand most are to scared and think if you stand up, put yourself out there more that will put a target on you from the pigs or the uneducated people. i got news for you look at what is happining, you already have a target in you from the pigs and politicians so start saying something. HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH! STOP BEING ASHAMED! SAY SOMETHING, SPEAK UP AND OUT! DID YOU KNOW IF YOU STOP ANSWERING THE DOOR FOR THAT ADDRESS CHECKS AND THEY COME BACK 5 – 10 – 20 TIMES THEY WILL HAVE LESS TIME FOR GAMES LIKE THIS CAUSING MORE HARM TO PEOPLE AND FAMILYS!

My criminal attorney promised me that if something happens and i don’t make it through they assured me they will get my story out there! Great you got help and legal council. But see the problem is even if dropped they can still use the arrest to not grant you clemency or a pardon under florida law
If you realize that you have forgotten to register an email address of identifier, what should you do? Will registering it now provoke the very punishment you would like to avoid? I have emailed my original attorney from twenty years ago but no response yet. Also, what is the punishment for not registering an email or identifier?
Yeah – definitely would not be discussing that on a public forum. You’re probably better off putting it on there, but that’s not legal advice. You’re not the only person who this stuff happened to. We get a lot of people who had no idea they were supposed to register something, then go register, and they are still walking free, but if you have the opportunity, definitely check with an attorney.

I have my own feelings about the outcome of my case in Florida, but looking back, he did exactly what I hired him to do. He negotiated a plea that resulted in no jail time, three years of probation, and the requirement to register in 2016.
At the time, avoiding jail was my top priority because I have children. Looking back now, I realize that the sex offender registry has had a much greater impact on my life than I expected. Even so, Mr. Aikens achieved the outcome I asked for during the plea negotiations.

WHAT IF YOU REFUSE TO SING THE PAPER OF RULES, =IS THERE ANYTHING IN THE STATUE ABOUT THAT? I THINK PERHAPS YOU WOULD BE ARRESTED FOR FAILURE TO REGISTER AS THEY WILL TRY TO SAY IT IS PART OF THE PROCESS BUT I DON’T THINK THAT WOULD HOLD UP! Sorry caps, i’m just very upset as this situation GOVERMENT LIES TRYING TO MAKE EVERYONE LOOK LIKE THE BOOGYMAN! WELL THIS BOOGY MAN HAD ENOUGH! Although i do realize that maybe 20-40% i think is about the number that should actually be on the hit list and of that percentage maybe 5-20% should stay on for life as they need to! but i have no proof to back those %’s up just like the government have no proof of the % they state!
