It looks like the amendment only restricts those convicted after 1/1/2026. the amendment is good news cosidering I live on a pond. however it still concerns me that when people are relased from incarceration they really have no where to go. even with the amendment, it will still create chaos. also one of te speakers mentioned adding internet restrictions to people on the registry. That has already been settled in Federal Supreme court and can not be added. But that is still a concern.

It is fascinating that no other groups of people I know, regardless of murderers (Ex-murderers), thieves, Robbers, Car-jackers etc, have new retro-active laws on them once they are off of probation or any other restrictions, every year’s sessions.
But here we are, some of us Decades since our crimes, still having piles of new laws come at us every-single-year. It has become so burdensome that some have taken their own lives. Stay strong and fight on.
      * With this new law, I can see the prisons filling up fast. This one is a doosie because like some said in the video, you cannot go a few blocks in Florida and not find water. When I lived in Fort Lauderdale, there were so many canals there, you could easily walk to them in many areas.

It it passes, “Today” it effects convictions and non convictions(she said it also effects adjudication withheld) after 01/01/2026
If we are students of history and everyone on the registry usually is
Tomorrow they will pass an amendment for it to be effective on all RSO’s on the registry no matter their conviction date
We have to wake up and stop celebrating every time we think these bills don’t effect us
There is always a Rep somewhere looking to make name for themselves in “Protecting kids”

        No hope

Where is the registry for elderly abuse? Dog (Animal) abuse? Where is the registry for people who scam others? Crooked cop registries. I know FAC states we do not need more registries and I somewhat agree, but until EVERYONE in the U.S is on some sort of registry, that may be the only way for this madness to end.
On an ending note, “Bad judges registries”.

How is your life on the pond? I ask because there are therapeutic health reasons for living on water, whether it is a a river, creek, pond, lake, or even the ocean (including the gulf). It is medicinal in nature and people usually are calmer near water, more tranquil, relaxed. By eliminating this very part of nature from the human lifecycle, they are removing a very important part of medical reasoning for living near such a source. They are looking to increase the stress levels of PFRs.

You can look up online, encourage all FLA PFRs and their family/friends, the benefits of this very fact. It benefits all humans, not just PFRs. This very fact needs to be spread in the fight against this very bill. Ask those who are considering this in the halls of FLA the legislature, remove yourself from the same environment and see how you feel in all aspects of your life. It will change and it won’t be for the better.

Swimming pools offer a different benefit than natural water sources such as those above, but they are just as beneficial. Look this up as well.

I just watched it. It was ridiculous. It did not make sense to me either. It does not matter if does not take place until 2026. This should not have passed the committee. Please tell me what we can do? They want all PFR s out of Florida. This is punitive. I am trying to understand.

Looks like if this passes, ALL of us will have to pitch in to hire a lawyer to sue the state.
The Halloween thing was not essential for me as it did not affect me, this one could send ALL of us to prison if we refuse to move if they are retro-actively applying it.
Also, the lady presenting the law did not make it clear if this was people on probation or ALL of us. Several of the other officials questioned that twice and two different answers were given. I do not think she understood her own bill, or the one she was presenting.

Would be nice if a judge stepped in and squashed it in the butt. Maybe even F.A.C “Threatening a lawsuit” could make them at least amend it to those only on probation (Which is still un-acceptable).
This never gets old but, I am going to say it again sadly. “The more they pile on us, the more restrictions we get, add more chances of us getting arrested.

I am pretty sure this would eventually be ruled unconstitutional; however, everyone may have lost housing by then and end up in the woods. Save your wood, we may need to build cabins.

I’m pleasantly surprised that there are so many politicians that understand what this bill will do. Thank you to those who stood up to speak.

I rarely watch these but this time I watched the entire thing. I am confused, did the bill pass? Everyone seemed to vote yes to pass which makes no sense because there were lots of people in the stands stating they were not comfortable with the restrictions.

I do appreciate those in power who had concerns. The fact that some of them actually were elated to force us out of the state completely.

    Someone make this make sense.

It passed this committee and has a couple more to go through. There will be additional Calls to Action.

My gratitude goes beyond words to the members who spoke out and went in person. I also noted that one legislator noted 60 emails came in. Thank you to all those who sent them. You can see the impact in real time. Please keep it up and lets get more than 60 next time. Your polite voices do make a difference.

BTW, I live just 300 feet from a lake. They can drag my dead body out my house before I get booted from a home I have owned for decades with no crime for more than 34 years.

How much does the lake positively impact you @CherokeeJack? In all facets as I wrote above, how does it help you? When you know them, this is what elected officials need to know to stop this bill.

The lake is private with no access to those who do not live on it. I can see it from my window but I cannot go to it. If I had to move because of it, the LAKE would have to move, however, I am sure the lake has been around for hundreds of years longer than me.
