XXXXXXX lives in Poinciana. Elections office records indicate he’s “eligible to vote in Osceola County.”
His status is “active,” meaning he can vote next month and this November in Osceola County and in the 2020 general election, he did vote.
XXXXXX is also a registered sex offender. Because of this, he should be ineligible to vote under Florida law.
I am glad I live in a state where I am allowed to vote. This should not be a crime.
If we cannot vote as any other citizen we should be exempt from taxes
They don’t mention that if the registered person is adjudication with held they ARE allowed to vote!
Adjudicated withheld not a conviction still can vote.
If your rights to vote were never removed by the state where convicted, are they automatically removed by Florida when you relocate to Florida???
I sent a respectful email to the author of the story and asked them why Persons forced to register and murderers are carved out in Amendment 4 (Other than personal dislike). (I asked them what their opinion was.)

I wonder why this man is afraid to show his face, if you google his name his Facebook, twitter page (6 whole followers) and quite a few web pages show him and his one goal to stop “corruption”, but why now?
How long till the news changes the framing and argues why a guy who committed a crime 16 years ago is still treated like a black man from Jim Crow era, meanwhile you can storm a capital and incite violence have someone die in the commission of a felony and get less time than these people who were approved by someone else to vote.
If they really want to make this about election fraud who approved the people on the registry to vote, should they not be held accountable for their fuck up? If I’m bad at my job, I get fired however these people sign off saying that they can vote however he goes to prison again and the person marking the boxes on the computer goes

This investigation comes after Gainesville-based database researcher Mark Glaeser cross-checked Florida voter lists against the FDLE’s public Florida Sexual Offenders database. Through his research, he found that six registered sex offenders in Lake County and three in Sumter County cast ballots.
Their votes would not have changed the outcome in any race and, so far, no charges have been filed…
Glaeser first looked into Alachua County, then expanded his search across the state of Florida, including in Lake and Sumter.
He said that locating the names of these ineligible voters is not a difficult process and something that the state should already be doing.
“This is what I call low hanging fruit. Easily detected, undetected by the state or the supervisors,” Glaeser said. “They’ve really dropped the ball.” …
So far Glaeser has researched 11 counties and filed complaints on 75 sex offenders. The highest percentage he’s seen so far has been in Gadsden County. Of the 23,000 people who cast ballots in 2020, 23 of them were sex offenders.
“So they had 0.1% of their total voting populous was illegal votes from sex offenders and sexual predators,” he said.

Glaeser is a data researcher who is not only angry about illegal voting, but he’s also afraid some felons might come after him.
He’s the one who tipped off the state last year that ten inmates in Alachua County, “ineligible felons… voted illegally in the 2020 General Election.”
He claims he’s found 100 sex offenders like Moye who have allegedly illegally voted, and he suspects there were more than 500 statewide.
“I don’t want people who are ineligible to vote in any elections,” Glaeser said. “Whether they are non-U.S. citizens or voting from another state or are convicted sex offenders or murderers in our state or are felons who have not had their rights restored.”

WESH doesn’t specify whether anyone actually voted. Perhaps their investigative reporting team couldn’t figure that out either way.
Florida is kind of a good state for Mark Glaeser. At least one county took his concerns seriously.
In any other state, he would not be taken seriously, and none of this would be considered newsworthy.

Think you misread or did not read the article. It clearly states:
“WESH 2 checked online with the executive office of clemency, under Drew’s name and prison ID number. It confirms his civil rights have not been restored.”

Anyway, someone messed up somewhere but even if it was not his fault, he will be the one paying the price. Plus, the news of course drags his name through the mud. A registered person could fart in church and it would make the news.
Also, I believe that our current governor has stated emphatically that he will not approve any registrant’s application for restoration.

There is a saying that states “The one thing that is consistent is change”. That change could be for the better or for the worse. Mostly for us, it seems to be for the worse many times. More and more retroactive restrictions etc.
I was only required to register once and done. Then once a year, the twice a year and for many years now 4 times a year. Only a matter of time before they decide we have to go in once a month. The reason I say that is, they “ease” into it slowly and they got away with increases over the years so why not every 60 days, then every month, then once a week etc etc.
Afterall, the powers that be state NONE of this is punishment so they can do whatever they want as long as it is not punitive. I applaud the judges who are brave or honest enough to occasionally rule in our favor. We need to keep all the judges in prayer that their eyes would be opened to the injustice that is happening to not only us, but our families as well.
