Despite several voices of reason, the Wyoming house passed a bill on third reading that would make a parent’s attendance at their child’s school more of a challenge and that would give power to a biased school administrator to block a child’s ability to have their parent participate in their schooling.

Was there a big problem in Wyoming? Not according to the article, so why is this law needed in the first place? I just don’t get the need for useless legislation.
I loved the comment that “[i]f there are unintended consequences…we can come back and fix it.” First of all, that would never happen with sex offender legislation. Most importantly, any consequences should be intended. Legislators have the responsibility to address all consequences before ramming thorough legislation for political advantage.
Legislators actually debated this! And some of them have some sense, apparently.
WY legislators debated this much more heavily than FL legislators did when they changed the definition of residence from five days to three. I think (anybody remember?).
All those affected should immediately pull their kids out of school and move somewhere else. If like 500 kids got pulled from a major metro areas school systems it could have a big effect.
Having said that, my high school had as many students as the entire state of Wyoming probably.
