Weekly Update #65

Dear Members and Advocates,

We hope that you have been able to find time to relax and reflect with a positive outlook on the past year and year ahead of us.

On the next Monthly Membership call, Gail will be providing updates on all of our accomplishments in 2019, and our new goals for 2020.  Due to the New Years holiday, the next Monthly Membership meeting will be postponed until Thursday January 9th at 8pm ET, and the New Member Orientation call will be on the following week, Thursday Jan 16th at 8pm ET.

While we will be discussing annual accomplishments and new goals in more detail on the next Membership call, there are items of importance for you to act on now:

  1. Time is running on on our MATCHING FUNDS offer for the Non-Registrant Collateral Consequences (NRCC) Challenge.  We are just short of our $5,000 goal and only 2 days left.  On New Years Day, a wonderful donor will match YOUR donation, dollar for dollar, up to $5.000.  Please contribute in any amount to have it DOUBLED and get this lawsuit filed sooner.  Take a minute to donate now so that we do not lose this opportunity for legal funding.  https://floridaactioncommittee.org/donations/

  1. We know the holidays can be a difficult time for many of us. Please reach out to someone that needs support.  Share with them that NARSOL, the National Association for Rational Sex Offense Laws (of which we are the Florida Affiliate) is hosting a special conference call on December 31 and hopes, with this call, to provide encouragement and hope for those who have no place to go, feel isolated, or lack support during the holiday season when loneliness can be a significant issue.  They will begin the call at 8:00 p.m. eastern time and plan to have the lines open for 3 hours. This will be an open mic night just like the Christmas Eve call.

Special invited guests Guy Hamilton-Smith, Mary Sue Molnar, and David Garlock will be dropping in to say hello and chat, and they may have other special guests also.  Please join them or spread the word to spend as little or as much time as you wish.  The phone number is 605 313-5169 followed by 957605#.  Even though prior registration is not required, they would appreciate knowing the degree of interest in this call by your signing up here.

We wish you all a Safe and Happy New Year with much to look forward to in 2020.

Sincerely,

The Florida Action Committee
