AR: Man facing child porn charges killed in jail
A man facing child porn charges was killed in an Arkansas jail, and now five inmates are accused of murder, police say.
Terry Craig, 44, was booked into the Monroe County Detention Center after noon on Friday, Aug. 8, on charges of possession of child sexual abuse materials, and possession of a firearm by certain persons, Arkansas State Police said in a news release.
Later that day, jail staff found Craig injured inside his cell, according to police. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The problem is that a lot of jails and prisons do not isolate those with a sex offense and put us/them in general population. I actually had more harassment in the county jail awaiting a transfer than I did in prison.
I can second that. Prison was easy compared to jail. Too many individuals who didn’t understand the situation that they were in.
Here is the real issue. Why aren’t those in charge ever charged and convicted of involuntary manslaughter? Those in charge of the incarceration process must be held accountable! I don’t blame the inmates as much as the jailers. Jail and prison culture dictates death for people charged or convicted as sex offenders. This needs to be addressed. If ever an investigation is held they ALWAYS determine the jailers a NOT culpable. There must be a outside neutral agency to investigate these deaths.
I live in Arkansas. The comments on the article are as expected. ie: Money on books, Hero’s all, ect.ect…
I was tier 1 in California. I moved here at the request of my family to watch my grandchildren grow up. They assigned me tier 3. Arkansas Time after Time says if I refute judgement they will assign me tier 4 out of spite.
And how many of them will be charged with Capital Murder?
Not a damn one.
Facing charge’s, not convicted of. i bet some loud mouth guard spread his charges all over the jail
Article gave more information about the deceased than the five accused. I’m now waiting for people to start calling those five heroes and start a GoFundMe page. Where was jail oversight?
I’m pleasantly surprised that they’re charging anyone. Hopefully they’ll dig into whether any staff was involved.
