Bill Cosby challenges new sex offender law as unconstitutional

Bill Cosby, the former acting legend who was recently convicted of sexual offenses, is challenging his designation as a “Sexually Violent Predator”

Days ago, Cosby received the designation from the State of Pennsylvania. Some of the distinctions of the SVP designation are lifetime registration and enhanced notifications (such as distribution of fliers to neighbors). Among the reasons for his challenge is arguing that “Act 10”, which was passed in 2018, cannot be applied retroactively in violation of the Ex Post Facto clause of the Constitution.

Another ex post facto violation. Have any of our lawmakers ever studied the Constitution or do they just do what they want and hope they won’t get caught?

Triggered emotions trumps logic and evidence when sex is involved in America.

Captain They throw these laws up and hope we don’t fight them if we do they hope they throw frighteningly high at the judge and hope it scares him or he doesn’t know or care about the constitution either. And even if the court does rule something unconstitutional politicians just ignore the ruling ala Michigan

Glad you mentioned the “frightening and high” LIE BASED ON NOTHING that “Justice” (cough, cough! Gag, gag!!!) Kennedy injected into Supreme Court jurisprudence.

Watch this video. It fully exposes how much of a fraud the “research” that guided the Supreme Court actually is. Even the originators of the myth are crying foul that the courts purposefully ignore the much more recent recidivism studies carried out by several states and keep going back to the layperson’s magazine the article upon which the Supreme Court based its ruling in McKune v. Lile.

The most ridiculous thing about the Cosby case is that he was convicted in April, but has been free awaiting sentencing in late September. Tells you what money can do in court. Poor defendants are dragged away in handcuffs IMMEDIATELY. I wouldn’t doubt that his judge is trying to find reasons to sentence him to simple probation.

Well, we’ve all been waiting for someone like this to challenge the Registery !!. Someone with a little money and someone with a little pull. Let’s hope Fat Albert can bring the Registery to it’s knees !!!. Too bad he didn’t live in Florida tho. Give ‘Em Hell Bill !!. I surely hope he gets things changed !!. At least getting the Ex Post Facto clause changed !!. I didn’t agree to ANY of this crap during my “Plea Deal” !! Let’s all pray. Thank you Bill.

It won’t bring anything to it’s knees. He’s challenging a PA Act, not the entire registry.

Certainly it will take more than this disgraced star to kill the beast however, it might just shine a light on what law enforcement and self promoting politicians such as Lauren Book have fought to keep in the dark and abused for so long and that is the United States Constitution and how it has been ignored when it comes to those labelled as “sex offenders” so this can be beneficial.
