CA: Fremont murder suspect allegedly admits to targeting sex offenders

A man accused in a deadly Fremont stabbing last week allegedly admitted to police that he was targeting registered sex offenders as potential victims.

Varun Suresh, 29, of Fremont, has been charged with murder in connection to the stabbing death of a 71-year-old man that occurred Thursday. “Evidence at the scene indicated a violent struggle,” Fremont PD said. “The victim was suffering from significant stab wounds” as responding officers arrived.

According to Fremont police “Suresh admitted that he sought out registered sex offenders as potential victims.”

    What ever happened to the doe v. SWEARINGEN case ? It seems that the judge looked for every excuse to shut it down.

      The court did no such thing. This case was initiated in 2018, went to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals (where Does prevailed) and then back to the District Court. Trial is scheduled for July 13, 2026.
