Customers of massage parlor begin to fight back

Customers of the now infamous Florida massage parlors have filed a Complaint for Emergency Declaratory Judgment against the Jupiter Police Department. The complaint seeks to block the release of videos, photos, customer list and other evidence collected in connection with the sting operation in which dozens of customers and masseuses were arrested.

The complaint (a copy of which can be read here) points out that the premise for the surveillance was “human trafficking” but that no human trafficking charges were brought against any of the targets of the sting. The complaint further argues that the surveillance activity violated the privacy rights of the people arrested and the people not arrested (yes, there were people there for legitimate spa services).

Hysteria over buzzwords like “human trafficking” and “sex offender” have given police license to cross the line for years. It seems this group of targets has the financial resources to fight back. We will keep you updated as things unfold.

Good. Hit them hard (Jupiter LE) and frequently. Cost them as much money as you can. Give them some blowback for their insanity.

Above all, vote against the DA that approved this nonsensical operation, the mayor/police chief that implemented it, and the judge that approved the warrants (if possible). I know you all can’t vote, but get your friends and families to do it for you.

Maybe I missed something, but did the owners of these establishments have knowledge of the surveillance cameras? And should I be concerned about cameras in the exam room at my doctor’s office? There are times I may be undressed in there, and there are also possibilities of various samples of bodily fluids during that time. What has happened to the expectation of privacy within the confines of a private business establishment? How often does this go on at private clubs? Poor people certainly can’t afford this sort of special treatment, let alone a legitimate massage.

you missed something. The police feigned a bomb threat and went in and installed these hidden cameras.

And cameras in an exam room would be a violation of HPPA.

Yes . I can see $100 million plus law suit with everyone involved in this sting getting fired. That wouldn’t be any too much.

Here, here! About bloody time the criminal acts of Floriduh’s “law enforcement” are globally exposed. The Floriduh police state acts with impunity only because of the success they have had in the past trampling the constitutional rights of registered citizens.

F%ck with a Patriot, and you get the bayonet!
