FAC addresses suspicious survey and invites “investigator” to answer concerns

This week, a suspicious invitation to participate in a “survey” was sent to every registered email on the Florida Sex Offender registry.

Today, we sent the following letter to the academic who is allegedly behind this survey, inviting him to answer to some glaring concerns we all have. We will update this post if he responds.

CONFIDENTIALITY: Your identity will be anonymous and will not be known to the researchers doing the study. You will be requested not to enter your name or any other identifying information on the survey.

At the very bottom of the survey in small print it clearly states:

Please do not forward this email as its survey link is unique to you.

    So much for Confidentiality.

    JEV, GG and CJ:
The court in Delgado v Swearingen gave them access to the email addresses but Florida cannot tie a specific email address to a specific person. If someone received an email with their name on it, it would directly conflict with the court’s ruling in Delgado and possibly give the recipient grounds to sue.
