Free Seminar: Diffusing Trauma
Are you carrying more emotional weight than you should have to? Being on the registry, having been incarcerated, or even loving someone who has gone through the system — it leaves a mark.
The stress, the stigma, the constant pressure… it doesn’t just go away. For many, it shows up in everyday life as anxiety, anger, hyper-awareness, or feeling constantly on edge. That’s trauma. That’s why this upcoming seminar from the Hinda Institute is so important.
“Diffusing Trauma” is designed to help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface. How trauma and triggers shape your thoughts, emotions, and reactions, often without you even realizing it.
This free course walks participants through: How trauma affects the brain and body, why certain situations trigger strong emotional responses, and how to recognize your personal triggers. More importantly, it gives you real tools, not just theory.
Through guided discussion and practical strategies, you’ll learn how to ground yourself in difficult moments, manage overwhelming reactions, and build a greater sense of safety and stability in your day-to-day life. There’s no labeling or judging. Without promoting it as such, this program is specifically for our population. You will hopefully gain understanding, control, and move forward.
If you’ve ever felt like your reactions don’t match the moment… if you’re carrying stress that never seems to turn off… this seminar is for you. Because healing isn’t weakness — it’s how you take your life back.
The Course takes place on Wednesdays, via zoom, and runs from 8:00PM – 9:30PM EST. Dates are April 15, 22, 29 & May 6, 13 (5 sessions)

Has any thought been given as to why the “Understanding the Registry”, that Hinda offered last month did not get a single comment? All Hinda required then was to select the Zoom link, but now an enrollment has been added. Did anyone attend that meeting? Hinda sounds wonderful, but the very topic may drive an aversion if the Zoom platform requires self-discloser of a Zoom account to FDLE. Do not take any risks, know the law.
Deep, Many have (registered) Zoom accounts, but you make a valid point about having to register your zoom account. I’ll check with Hinda to see if they have a phone in option.
Deep – a phone option has been added to the post. Anyone with a telephone can call in.
Dear Deep Truth,
You’re saying a Zoom account has to be registered?
Curious,
Registering a Zoom account with the FDLE may remove anxiety. The convoluted and confusing wording about internet identifiers could be misunderstood by law enforcement. Zoom is not considered to be an open social media platform, which may not need to be disclosed. The point is to avoid stress and anxiety, if you know the law, great, will the FAC, FDLE or local Sheriff Office answer the question? To register Zoom or not, take no risk, know the law. Thankfully, all anxiety has been removed by FAC, dialing in is now an option.
anything about stress the silent killer? im stressed / tense all the time and can’t relaxed its always on my mind if i forgot to do something etc always looking for 10 cop cars to pull up, etc… yup and it is not punishment and reason they make all civil violations a felony is not about seriousness of a civil infraction it is all about money and the more felony arrests they get the more money they receive they are incentivized to make arrests for civil violations as they are incentivized by funding as it is a violent crime and also a sex offender no i’m not making this up! ai can do research but just remember to always question it and double check ai as it may lie to you!
In that case, this course is for you!
Should also State being raped in prison is another issue. Due to Staff telling other inmates “your” Charges. And being already diagnosed with Anxiety, PTSD, and Major Depressive Disorder this makes the situation 100x worse.
FAC continues to amaze me. I think you are the most active registry group in the country. The seminar seems to be just another example of the extra-ordinary services and support you offer. Thank you, your leadership, and all your staff and volunteers for the good job you are doing, not just for Florida, but also for the country. There is still so much more to be done. Appalling how FL, its legislature, its city councils, and general public at large seem to be insensitive to the hardships imposed by them on these fellow citizens.
This is actually a course put on by the Hinda Institute, with whom we work with closely. Our work is just to make sure our members have access to information, research, resources and support.
This is actually something they should cover in court ordered “treatment.” Post Conviction Stress is a real thing.
This sounds fantastic. But are the sessions going to be recorded for those that are not able to attend due to evening obligations such as jobs or family who may want to view them.
