📣 Friday Wrap-Up
Together, We Keep Moving Forward

A letter to our members and supporters 💚

Friday, October 9, 2026

Dear FAC Members and Supporters,

👋 Hello from FAC Media! We have had a great week getting our voices into the news, and we want to say thank you.

📰 Special thanks to Amelia Orjuela Da Silva at The Miami Times for listening, examining the facts and giving our families substantial space in her article while hearing the county’s position. That thoughtful, fair reporting matters to people who too often feel invisible.

Miami Times Coverage

We replied to Ron Book’s housing comments through FAC’s October 8 letter, sent to the Homeless Trust and emailed to all 13 Miami-Dade district commissioners, with HUD copied. Our question remains: if housing is available, where, exactly?

Where, Exactly? Our Response

🎙️ Thank you, ComplianceAtlas, for reading our newsletter, discussing FAC v. Glass and featuring our case online. Each conversation helps others understand what our families face.

💚 With Gratitude to the People Who Keep FAC Moving

⚖️ Special thanks to our Legal Committee for spearheading the federal lawsuit and helping spearhead county challenges, ongoing and over the years. This volunteer work takes persistence, blood, sweat and tears. Your dedication deserves our heartfelt gratitude.

🔧 To our Board, other committees, their volunteers and county coordinators: thank you for stepping up. Like an engine, FAC needs its parts working together. The work under the hood keeps us moving, too.

🤝 To our estimated 3,700-plus members: you make this organization truly function. Every dollar counts. Every story counts. Your articles and tips keep us focused while we also help with research, flyers and other media projects.

Share experiences in FAC’s website comments or email us. We are listening and will retain your stories. Emailed names stay confidential and separate unless you authorize identification. Tell us whether your story may be shared anonymously or must remain private. Website comments are public.

🏛️ We are nearing the next stage of our youth registry legislative work. Thank you to the Legislative Committee and volunteers working hard on the proposed Young Adult Registry Petition Act for 2027.

Legislative Proposal

Florida’s registry can follow someone into adulthood for certain qualifying conduct committed at just 14.

Imagine your own child. If your child or family member is already affected, you know the worry about their future. What about generations still growing up? Victims deserve support, and young people deserve treatment, growth and hope.

Youth Research

🌱 Keep pushing. Even a baby step forward is better than a step back. Thank you for refusing to let our families be forgotten.

We know some days are exhausting. Please remember: you belong here, and you do not stand alone.

All of This Is Free

We understand many people forced to register have little money to live on. Your voice matters, too! Sign the U.N. petition, join FAC free, follow our social channels, comment or share your story. Every action helps.
