Man Sentenced to Death for Killing Sex Offender Inmate
On Monday, Rocky Ali Beamon was sentenced to death in Jackson County, Florida, for First Degree Premeditated Murder of Bruce Hunsicker at the Apalachee Correctional Institution in 2012. Beamon’s confessions shed light on his motive: Hunsicker was a sex offender.
After watching the victim for several days to learn his schedule, Beamon killed Hunsicker in the shower area of the prison dormitory by approaching him from behind, choking him, and stabbing him 80 times with a homemade shank. Reports said Beamon then rinsed himself off and flushed the shank, a towel, and a pair of boxers, after which he proceeded to dinner.
Oi! They keep trying to say that sex offenders can’t help from re-offending. Enough so, that they made this jimmy ryce law. Soooooo, if a person can’t control it, it must be a mental issue therefore they need treatment from the beginning NOT PRISON. If it is a choice, then it’s a prison sentence and not civil commitment. Florida gets BOTH! Make up your damn mind!
Also, I don’t know if an attorney has tried arguing this yet, but the “ignorance of the law is no excuse”argument went right or the window when they started retroactively applying laws. NO ONE, can possibly know what law would be passed in the future. I really believe the g government should be slapped with this enlightening information. Either stop retroactively applying laws or I can argue that I didn’t know it is or might be illegal in the future.
I like to take a different course of thought here. Instead of blaming others for what happen to children. Let start with the basics.. Parents that failed to watch their own child. Now I am not going to name names or point fingers. But most of offences occur when the alleged victim knew the accused. I am not in a position to say who is a victim or not, weather it was a victim-less crime. I am saying the parents should be held also accountable for neglect, failing to supervise. Perhaps if parents took the correct course of action by being a parent than putting toys, video games and letting other watch or babysit children. There would not be a so-called need for any type of registry
Joseph, I must strongly disagree others your comment. Whether or not the parents are “good attentive parents” or not is no reason to molest a child period.
I was totally responsible for my crime. My victims nor their mother were at fault.
I think, for you or any one else to make a statement like your’s is minimizing their crime.
I really don’t want to ruffle any feathers here. Your statement just struck me the wrong way.
Thank you for your disagreement. I am not trying to minimize any crime. I agree no child or person should be a molested, The purpose of my comment was Perhaps it is time for Parents to start taking responsibility for their offspring instead of passing them along to other people My statement should not have stuck you wrong, Perhaps some guilt you must have felt. I am not trying to minimize my crime either however no 15 yrs old girl should be running around the streets getting their older (Boy)friends into trouble either. You drop your pump into the well and a little gusher comes out of the well. Some one need to take responsibility for the action Would you not agree?I am also glad you admit you at fault. My fault was my underage girlfriend at the time was 4 years and 3 months shy of the Romeo and Juliet law
