Thankfully the state’s attorney prosecuting this case screwed their head on straight and enhanced the charges. Thank you to the grand jury for indicting the suspect. Now the ASA needs to seek the death penalty for the suspect with life imprisonment, no parole as the lesser punishment.

Another thing I do not see is public protest outside the courtroom regarding the registry. Most causes that gain real attention have families, mothers, fathers, children, and even the individuals directly affected standing outside with signs and drawing legal media attention. That visibility matters.

The difficult reality is that even my own remaining family does not care enough to sacrifice time from their lives to stand up for the issue. I wonder how many others face the same problem — you can explain the injustice to friends, family, or acquaintances, but because it does not personally affect them, they are unwilling to act.

That feeling can leave a person emotionally paralyzed. Yet if even a small group of affected individuals gathered peacefully with signs sharing truthful information about the issue, it could create awareness and traction among people who otherwise do not understand what is happening.

Anyone else notice how the fact that the victim being a PFR was downplayed ? Polar opposite of the misleading headlines of 1000 sex offenders arrested in Tampa that refused comments or corrections.

The powers need something new to point to, because the old points don’t’ hold water. Now they can say “Look how bad the recidivism is. There are over 1000 just in Tampa !” They will not stop until we are all in shadow prisons.

This case should be the benchmark for removing the public registy online and make it only law enforcement available…. at minimum. However, I feel that there should be no sex offender registry. The registry online here in florida gives out our resident address, the vehicles I drive, Name and date of Birth. This info can be used for fraud, or to track down someone to do harm to them. For example, I had a guy use my name and date of birth in a traffic accident down in miami. I had my licence suspended because of that and it took a year to straiten it out and another year to close the case. In that time I had an ambulance company trying to Charge me 100k for damage to their ambulance (they guy hit an ambulance). The only thing that saved me is that I wear an ankle monitor and I cant travel to miami from tallahassee. Our info is out there to be used for nefarious reasons, be very aware and be vigilant.

It should be yes. But looking at the climate look Florida or Alabama may not be the states to initially state the compagn like you said. If this was done in a different state like say california it may be handled differently as far as being downplayed. But again swaying public opinion or gaining support they are very fickle attention span.

There should be laws against doxing people –
    Especially entire classes of people.

Dear John Doe, don’t you mean the guy who tried to kill you was charged with attempted murder?
