Maryland: Member Submission

I just found out I have to travel to Maryland next week for a business meeting. So I got online to look at the requirements. Maryland does not have residency restrictions. If that is not good enough, Maryland is actually against residency restrictions for the same reason we fight against them here in Florida. The registry FAQ website is  https://www.dpscs.state.md.us/onlineservs/sor/frequently_asked_questions.shtml

Look at FAQ question #15. It spells it out, and even mentions Florida’s inability to track homeless registrants because of our registry laws.

I called them to make sure that also applied to visitors and hotels and it does. I only have to notify them if I am in their state longer than 14 days.

With more and more states starting to get it, I’m amazed at how Florida refuses to look at the truth and continues on with the draconian lifetime punishment attitude.

I hate to say it but nothing about Florida policies surprises me. As long as there are federal dollars attached to SO management Florida will continue to ignore the Constitution and destroy lives. The politicians are pretty much protected from being held accountable. In the business world how many of us could collect a pay check for producing a product our company no longer produces at the current business location…moved out of state, or a product that is no longer produced at all…deceased? In the SO management world that does not apply. Maybe it’s time to expose our politicians for the thieves that they actually are!

I wish all States had uniform regulations. But it seems that every State, county, town, township and even naborhoods have there own regulations!!
I have a family get together very soon in Minnesota. I will be there for aweek and not at the same place. I will be at several cities and towns during our visit there. Does anyone know what the regulations for RSO’s visiting that State are?
    Thanks

This was posted previously on a document shared through FCA. Someone did extensive research and a very nice job of it. You might be able to search the board to find the original post. But basically I’d suggest going to their website:
      Summary: https://por.state.mn.us/predatorfaq.aspx
      or
      Statutes: https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/?id=243.166
Maybe search the board for state registration laws visitors.
Here is what it said on the documents at the time of post:
5 days for initial reg. and updates.
Visitors: presence in state for more than 14 days triggers obligation to register, probably within 5 days of entering state. §243.166(1b).
Registrants without a primary address must register w/in 24 hours of entering a new jurisdiction, and shall provide updates in-person weekly.
      Good luck

For every registant Florida receives x amount of Federal funding towards Law Enforcement. Rich lobbyists, Judges, Senators & affluent residents ensure private & state run facilities remain full of S.O.s due to private interest. Don’t look for Florida to change. The $ runs deep as Florida fleeces the rest of 🇺🇸’s tax revenues.

That’s because Florida is the 10th most corrupt state in the Union and makes prisons and disenfranchisement a state industry to line the pockets of crooks like Ron & Lauren Book and the private prison industry. Meanwhile Florida inmates are subjected to unsafe conditions, bad food, and overpriced canteen items. So long as corrupt politicians can use us as scare tactics to get the old folks of Florida to tolerate or encourage their draconian laws this is what we’ll be dealing with.

    Good luck on your trip.
