Don’t feel bad, I had a call from Broward Sheriff office, ( spoofed number) they were very convincing that I failed to come down for a 2nd DNA TEST, that I missed the date, and an arrest warrant was issued to be arrested unless I gave the an amount of money to hold off arrest until trail date was to be held……….Thanks to FAC, I was pre-warned about the calls, even though it was scary, I just hung up, they kept calling back, I blocked the number….

As embarrassing as it is to admit this, I am hoping others will not fall for this scam. My workplace was called by a Detective Keith McCoy from 813-825-0657 and was supposedly from Land O Lakes in Pasco County. Land O Lakes is where the sheriffs office is for registering. This scumbag was very convincing and I fell for his demand that I get prepaid cards and give him the numbers. Writing this I feel even more stupid, but hope if anyone gets a call from this guy or from that number you will hang up promptly.

Thank you for sharing. Don’t feel bad. It has happened to a lot of PFRs. You are brave and unselfish to share. Wishing you well.

Don’t feel bad. Our son fell for this and he is not a PFR. It was an “IRS” scam. He called afterward realizing what a mistake he made and was so mad at himself. This is what stress can do. You just don’t always think straight. I am glad you shared this so as to warn others. Many may not realize it for the scam it is. The email scams I get are getting better all the time too.

Hello, as a juvenile registrant since 2008, one of the first in the state if not the first. (Citrus County). I’ve been fighting is ever since. With thousands of dollars spent, most recently a denied motion after a years long wait for a response. Filed about 7 motions in the past 10 years. My particular scenario the judge never made procedural required written findings, of my age or the victims along with was the offense clothed or unclothed.

Below is copy of the court ruling.
    “the Court simply
failed to make a written finding as to the defendant’s age at the time of the offense. The Court notes that there does not appear to be any case law directly on point for this issue.

While it would have been better for the Court to have explicitly noted the age of………. at the time of the offense on the face of the Court Disposition and/or Commitment Order,
his age at the time of the offense was readily apparent from those documents. The date of the
offense was listed as 06/26/2007 on the Court Disposition dated March 11, 2008 (attached as Exhibit
A). The Disposition also lists the sentence, including the sexual offender designation, and is signed by the Court. …… date o f birth is listed as 1991 on the Commitment Order dated
March 12, 2008 (attached as Exhibit B). Thus, it was ascertainable from the sentencing documents
that ……. was fifteen years old at the time of the offense.

The court is stating to use common sense to see my age.

Why make it required by law to write these findings if common sense is the rule of law???

I’m at a loss a fighting this has been draining in every way. And society is getting much more difficult to deal with these days

Any attorneys want to view my motions and have ideas?

I am going forward to appellate court next, but I feel I’m
    In a losing battle
