Texarkana, Arkansas, authorizes collection of fees from out-of-state sex offenders
Any sex offenders from outside Arkansas moving to or working in the city will be charged a total fee of $500!!!
Monday, July 21, the Arkansas Board of Directors discussed and approved an ordinance authorizing the city to collect fees for any sex offenders who are out-of-state registrants or out-of-state workers. There will be two separate fees of $250. One will be the required fee when registering with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, and the other will be for the required DNA sample.
The fines will only charge new residents of Arkansas and people living outside of the state wanting to work in the state. However, if a person were to move out of the state and then move back, they will be required to pay for the registration fee again.

The 4th and 5th Amendments already don’t apply to us. Florida treats us like garbage already but at least we don’t (yet) have to pay to register. This is so blantantly against the law but they know there’s no one to challenge so they do whatever they like. I truly don’t know if there’s a heaven and hell (nobody does for sure) but if there’s a hell it will have a very large cave full of politicians, prosecutors, judges and cops. Sure some are decent (an assumption), but the vast majority will have a warm seat waiting for them…..just sayin🤷♂️
So, wait. Is this a “fee” or a “fine”? The article refers to it as both. I guess the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution doesn’t apply to Arkansas.
@RM
There are many people like myself on the registry who are disabled and barely getting by. If that came here (The high fees) they would have to lock me up because I can barely afford food and am on food stamps. Are those who do not have the money get arrested? If so, that is their goal, to get us all back in jail so you have another charge and then can never be removed from the registry (At least that is the law in Florida according to the attorney) Another arrest bars you from petitioning for removal.
Comically transparent.
Why not a million dollars?
Just another “administrative” banishment.
How about Florida?
If this is allowed to stand, it’ll spread absolutely everywhere.
And if you don’t pay or cannot afford to pay?
