VA: Juice shop closes after employees discover owner’s brother is registrant.

A popular juice shop in Richmond, Virginia closed after employees discovered that the owner’s brother had a Florida criminal record for sexual battery. According to reporting by WRIC, staff became aware of the brother’s history and raised concerns about his involvement in the business.

As the situation developed, it appears the brother had worked for the business without being disclosed as a registrant to the other employees. Employees reportedly quit en masse, causing the business to close.

What do you think? Should the employee’s history have been disclosed or do you think it was was nobody’s business?

I have been on the Florida registry literally since day one back on October 1st, 1997. I’ve seen the gradual ramping up of hysteria and back lash for quite some time and have long suspected that smart phones would create problems no one ever dreamed of when these laws were initially written. And here are. One person looks at a phone and whammo. Something they weren’t involved in 20 – 30 years ago and has long since been resolved is suddenly a fresh issue in real time worthy of immediate outburst. If state sponsored perpetual character assassination in a hyper digital environment isn’t punishment nothing is.

Why close? The employees quit so hire new staff. If the brother was not harming or harassing anyone, what the HELL people, get a life. Were they harmed or harassed? Seems not and someone was snooping around in his business?

My privacy too. I did my time, endured parole. But it gets worse not better.

Free to travel without restrictions, vote in local or national elections, participate or speak in public events, or protect myself with a gun?

A toy watergun can land me in prison.

My family and clients have been hassled, and stood up. But others are lost drifting in a hopeless sea of hate.

Could be an opportunity for the shop to employ others in the same situation as the PFR.

This may be the way we end the registration list; reveal every and all family members and their work places and businesses.

Would that be legal? It is public information, right? Google tells all.
