WARNING: Strong crackdowns are here!
All, a couple of weeks ago we warned that strong crackdowns were taking place across Florida (https://floridaactioncommittee.org/fac-weekly-update-2026-06-23-compliance-checks-and-registration-enforcement-across-florida/)
Today, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office announced the results of “Operation Silver Spur”, in which 126 registrants were arrested for technical violations such as vehicle reporting, internet identifiers, etc. For context, there are 667 registrants in Osceola County. That means 19% of the registrant population in the county was arrested – that’s nearly 1 in 5! (see: https://www.fox35orlando.com/news/operation-silver-spur-sex-offenders-back-behind-bars)
In Taylor County (who even knew there was a “Taylor County” in Florida) of the 78 registrants, 5 were arrested (6.4%) in another announcement today (https://fox49.tv/news/local/fdle-taylor-county-sheriff-arrest-five-in-3-day-sex-offender-compliance-sweep) and last week in Alachua, operation “Get ‘Em Gator”, got 25 (https://cbs12.com/news/local/operation-get-em-gator-nets-25-arrests-for-sex-offender-registry-violations-in-florida-fdles-missing-persons-and-offender-enforcement-division-jacksonville-regional-operations-center-gainesville-field-office-partnered-alachua-county-sheriffs-office).
We know some of these arrests, if not most, are for petty things, like an account you didn’t know you had to register or one that’s been dormant forever and you forgot about. Barely any are for new crimes (outside of registration violations). Just know this is taking place and make sure your family has the contact information to a defense attorney handy. There definitely appears to be a state-wide initiative to lock up as many registrants as possible, so please be vigilant!

I just did mine on July 1st and it was smooth. I only have 5 internet Identifiers. and an Xbox I didn’t even know I had. but July 10th my Microsoft account closed so I removed it. Other than that I mean, IDK. but you are right it is scary. I mean right on the Cyber site it tells you to remove your stuff that you no longer use. Are they busting people for that?
“To remove an account from the list, please click on the ‘Delete’ button to the right of the record.” It tells you right there.
Here is the phone number verbiage. “To remove a phone number from the list, please click on the ‘Delete’ button to the right of the record.”
Work info. ” 2. Close any of the following employment addresses that are not current.
3. To close an address select ‘Close’ checkbox and enter the ‘End Date’ (The date when you were no longer employed at this address).
4. Click on Close Address button.
Email page. “If you need to remove an account from the list, please click on the ‘Delete’ button to the right of the record.”
Also Is it after use correct not just creating? The thing is if you have a google account, google gives you a username for all their addon’s, So does Microsoft. Never had Yahoo so IDK about that one. But there in lies the issues these platforms give you add ons and you dont even know. But Like I said I thought it was 48 hours after use.
They keep track of identifiers that have been deleted. They will no longer show up on the registration site, but they remain in the FDLE database. Source: I had the misfortune of them trying to use the database against me.
First, they came for….
Do we know what or who is behind this frivolous abuse of taxpayer dollars? Is there not enough clout in our numbers to confront obvious bias in the enforcement of petty administrative failures. These serve no purpose in reducing crime, and perhaps, reflect poorly in the relationships by enforcement authorities in the review and assistance given to those under supervision. Do enforcement staff have any responsibility in their semiannual inspections to help those under their review meet this complicated maize of administrative requirements?
Another very good reason to just leave Florida.
I’ve stated before, that this would be a thing. Florida is a prison state, and will continue to be. It’s a revenue generator, and easy pickings for law enforcement, and the judicial system in this state. We see it every year, by the laws they keep implementing. So long as this nation keeps stripping people of their constitutional rights, states like Florida, will keep pushing such laws to full effect.
I’m glad I live in an area where my entrapment situation is understood and no one really harasses me. Of course it’s not in Florida. Florida is the last place I would live in when dealing with a situation like this.
Where do you live??
Where can we go and just live out our lives in peace?
I swear I would move to Alaska in the winter if it is free enough.
