Watch Jim DeFede Shut Down Ron Book

One of the best videos ever! Watch as CBS4 News’ Jim DeFede shut down a very arrogant and ignorant Ron Book.

This one is certainly going to become a classic! It’s posted on his Twitter as well (those who have access should post comments https://twitter.com/DeFede)

Jim DeFede not only tore “Won-Won” a new one, he presented FACTS and “at the end of the day” (LOL)
had Book admitting that Books studies were fake facts, and did no good for the community.
Book denied ALL the evidence that DeFede had brought; it made me think, why are the people even listening to Books maniacal ravings?
The more I see Book live, the more I have pity on this person. His daughter was “allegedly molested” by her Nanny for years.
Book is going thru guilt, he was to busy with his career to be a father to his daughter. Then he drags his daughter out into the spotlight, instead of getting her help for the “alleged incident”. (to me, dragging her out & parading her around in the public spotlight, instead of counseling, cast serious doubt about her credibility)

I have a few questions about this.
    What happened to the nanny?
    Is she a registered sex-offender?
    Wheres mom during this time?
    Who contributes to Homeless Trust?
    How much?
I have tried, but I am not computer savvy; I cant find anything about the above questions.

Ron Book is 100% feeling guilty about his neglect with his own daughter, that’s why he’s on a crusade to take his rage, disappointment and vengeance out on a group of people. There is NO rational person who can hear Ron Book speak and not questions this man’s mental stability.

The nanny received a 25 yr sentence..she is currently at Lowell Correctional institue in Florida..there are 2 detainers on her upon her release which means she will be on probation..this is all avail on the FLA DOC website
She will have to register as a Predator not Offender

..again, we are dealing with Book who ignored his child and gave her to a Nanny…Book is just as guilty as the Nanny..the SOB should be locked up and abused and tortured by the FLA DOC as most SOs are in the system

Waldina Flores is serving a 25 year prison sentence. She was originally given 15 years but they added on 10 more for her writing letters to Lauren.

@FAC. I would love to see Emily Horowitz on his show. Is there anyway for that to happen? The fire is hot now let’s keep it burning.

If anyone is on twitter they should tweet Jim to have Emily Horowitz on for an inteview as someone who has studied these things extensively.

I would also like to see a registered citizen or citizen{s} on the show. Those that have been grandfathered in for some time now, have been off probation for years now and living a normal regular life with no incident whatsoever other than that one stint.

Sounds like me. Not in trouble, ever. 2 speeding tickets in the old Hacienda Village in 1983. (Before I-595 was built) This was my first run-in with the law. Received 4 months county time (for 5 felonies) got 20 years probation (was done in 4 years) All without the help of my “public pretender”.
Been free for almost 25 years.

I personally think that if “Won-Won” actually came face to face with a SO, who debated him with facts and figures, I actually think he would attack the person. (or walk off, or refuse to do the show) THEN you would actually see the REAL Book. Unstable, self serving, guilt ridden, and a bully.

Like they said in the video, there are 1000’s but only 250 or so are homeless, What about the rest ?

Jim called him on it with registered citizens that are grandfathered in and Ron couldn’t say anything. What can you possibly argue or say against any citizen that has the necessary support and stability of a residence and with family. Ron probably doesn’t want anyone knowing about that particular population(He never mentions it). Just like you, my cousin who is a registered citizen is grandfathered in, has been living in the same place for 25 years with no incident whatsoever and has been done with his court sentence for 6 years now. A few traffic tickets when he was younger. He has no prior arrests/convictions of either criminal or any kind.

Ron said all sex offenders are the same and that they should all be either in jail for life or homeless ,that is his wish. But the problem is that attitude doesn’t set well with most people. Most people have good intentions there just mis informed. Most people can see his dark side when up against reasonableness. For Ron has none. I wish someone could talk with the Nanny who supposedly abused Loren Ron’s daughter and get her side of the story.I have a feeling there’s something more to it that we’re not being told.

Jim DeFede brought up the Jimmy Rice act. The point he was trying to make is that every person with a sex offense or and offense that is sexually related (plead down to a lesser crime) get evaluated by DCFS. Ron attempted to do dismiss such fact as untrue.. I wish Jim would have read the section in that law. It would have made the point clearer in his rebuttal of Ron.

At the end of this clip, Book says that the state ‘used to lock them up forever’, referring to those who are found guilty of sex crimes against children. The truth is, a registered sex offender whose ‘crime’ involved a consenting 16 year old nowadays, would not have even been arrested for that back in the early 90’s. And, life in prison is still reserved only for those convicted of certain acts with children under 12 (capital crimes), if I’m still up on my legal knowledge. My point is that Book is one of those emotional morons who generalizes everything. Something is just ‘bad’ or ‘good’. As much as he pisses me off, I can’t help but feel the misery inside of him that makes me a small bit sympathetic. I will keep an eye out on cbsmiami.com for the full interview.

I guess we can not have everything but I wish Jim had challenged what Book was saying about intent. I wish had had said I guess those people might not be at a Park for a good reason – you know like living.

Then Ron says 2500 foot is all over FL! Not!

        Sean – thanks! lol

Most of Seminole County is not 2500! Only the City of Oveido has an ordinance that increases the County ordinance. As far as I know (except maybe some city things I do not know about) Orlando does not have it, Orange County does not have it, Lake County does not have it….
