According to KXAN NBC in Austin Texas, Florida Action Committee President Gail Colletta has described Boyd’s bill as “state-sanctioned eugenics.” Colletta says that “this bill, if enacted into law, would violate the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, as it would mandate forced mutilation resulting in a permanent loss of an important bodily function as a form of criminal punishment.”
Colletta’s comments are found in a press release that was sent out today by Florida Action Committee.
This is not America as I knew it, its more like like middle eastern Islamic shaming , next they’ll start lashing people publicly. We need to stop these bills by emailing this judicial committee,

I am a concerned citizen voicing my opposition to proposed bills, HB 166 and SB 371. I do not support these bills and I urge you not to support these bills either for the following reasons:

I am vehemently opposed to both HB 166 AND SB 371 and urge you to reject them based on their violations of the U.S. Constitution and the United Nations Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. These bills are not well-thought out, both are poorly written with unclear language, and retributive without preventing sexual harm. The citizens of Louisiana that you represent deserve better treatment than these flagrant violations of their God-given rights and both bills eliminate the opportunity for forgiveness, redemption, and rehabilitation.

Because African-American men are forced to register at more than twice the rate of white men in Louisiana, it means exactly that. If this bill becomes law and is enforced, it will definitely reduce and dilute the African-American population of Louisiana.
Representative Delisha Boyd is pushing a law that would tangibly and measurably reduce the Black population of Louisiana. She has no business serving as an elected official, and surely even less as one that claims to fight for the rights of African-Americans.
Just the other day a person who had raped a 14 yo girl in Louisiana was sentenced to 50 years in prison (he is 55 now) but the sentence also said he would be castrated before his sentence ends, though he will likely be dead by then. His case was egregious but nevertheless this type of sentence for sex offenders is equally egregious. We have a governor now (Jeff Landry), who has a cruel agenda for prisoners in this state. He has just pushed a law that was passed that ends parole for prisoners beginning in August of this year. There are a lot of cruel and ignorant people in this state, including the legislator(Ms. Boyd) and the governor who think these things are what prisoners deserve. These people have no soul.

In addition to the “usual”, and expected, list of offenses that this bill would make vasectomies mandatory, the offense “Interference with the Custody of a Child (RS14.45.1) would also be on the list.
Imagine a grand parent interfering with visitation/custody of their grand child being forced to get a vasectomy.
Honestly, I kinda would have liked to have seen that happen to my ex father in law and his wife… oh wait, she can’t get a vasectomy.

Oh, and Rep Boyd has said in an interview published by KTAL-TV that the reason for her bill is because of Louisiana’s ban on abortions. She sees this bill as a form of birth control. Wow. Look it up.
I thought that you were kidding when I first read your comments. Sadly you weren’t. She did say that. According to the article that I read, her mother was impregnated by a 28yr old when Bord’s mom was fifteen. I don’t think that she has really thought about the consequences of her bill. I feel that it’s more than political stunts here but some personal vengeance as well.
This story sounds like something that would have been done to someone during the medieval period. So barbaric and inhumane. I thought physical punishment was banned in the U.S after slavery.
