Petition to Declare Public Sex Offender Registration in the United States a Violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)
Today, approximately one-million people in the United States are forced to register as “sex offenders”. The label leads to stigmatization, separation from society, loss of employment, loss of housing and even exposure to violence at the hands of vigilantes. The stigmatization extends to the spouses, children, family, friends, employer and anyone that associates with the registrant. The isolation, shame, stress, fear of violence, loss of income and other psychological effects are experienced by the entire household.

Very interestingly my water bill came , and in the envelope was a flyer from Lauren’s kids and it clearly states that stranger danger is not the issue that it is family members friends or people known to the victims .
So if Lauren’s kids know this how is it that the government does not ?

DS check out your car registration renewal envelope the flyer will be included. Every year I send it back with a note asking if the ‘ county paid for this flyer because I consider it political advertising.’ I have never received an answer!!! (It does say on the flyer that it was paid for by Lauren Kids)

Ron Book is a bully, so true to form last evening. Jeanne did a great job pointing out his failed logic and focusing the argument on FACTS. Mr. Book’s only argument ever is based on his emotional out burst spewing falasies.
The legislature and county commissioners need to begin holding him accountable for the constant flow of misinformation he uses as he bullies his way to continue to hold on to his position, which has created failed policies over and over. He and his clients donate money to all of these campaigns giving him this leverage..(follow the money) All he’s pushed has created unbelievable human collateral damage. By his own admittance in the documentary, “Untouchables”, none of these laws he’s bullied legislators to pass would have protected his daughter Lauren from the abuse she suffered at the hands of the Nanny he and his wife hired to be in their home. The fact is more than 95% of sexual abuse goes on in the home, or places where children feel safe , by people known to the victim and their families. So they’re a typical statistic. Let’s create policy that works and not just makes us feel good. Ron Book should use his power for good not evil. The conflicts of interest in the position he holds at the Homeless trust, his lobbyist clients and his daughters position in the legislature is a recipe for disaster. The legislature continuing to allow this man to have influence over tax payer $$ to drive his personal agenda resulting in innumerous human rights violations and collateral damage making us all less safe is just plain absurd. Stop the madness. Thank you Jeanne for pointing out how flawed his arguments are and the damage he and the Miami-Dade county commissioners have done. The homeless trust has not done squat that’s been effective to assist the population the county commissioners and Mr. Book created.
