98% of persons required to register as sex offenders found to be compliant!

That’s what the title to the article could have read, instead it says, “Sex offender compliance check conducted, 18 arrests made”.

The title sounds awful, but if you read the article it tells something different. “The LVMPD’s Sex Offender Apprehension Team, in conjunction with the United States Marshals Service Sex Offender Predator Apprehension Team and Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, reached out to over 620 registered sex offenders”

in context 18 out of 620 is a drop in the bucket. especially when 15 of the 18 were arrested for technical registration violations and not new sex offenses. Technical violations that are not new crimes for anyone other than someone on the registry. So in reality… 99.5% of persons required to register didn’t re offend!!!

Somehow that’s a totally different story.

I was wondering why they waited for a (publicized by design) compliance check to serve the 3 outstanding warrants.

Kinda like saying 98% of all people don’t rape or molest children.

      What is? The headline? Duh.

This article has nothing to do with “rape or molest children”. It is about criminal law enforcement wasting limited resources just to harass families. It is about them trying to make the public believe that they are doing useful police work, in order to get more support and $$$$$$$$$$$. It about them checking up on laws that make no difference whatsoever if they are being follow 0% or 100%.

So, 98% is just irrelevant. Same as 80%. Same as 60%. All nonsense. It’s just to placate dumb, uninformed people.

For those of you who are not “Woke”, compliance checks and violations are a way to get us back in the system with new charges. Thus, in my instances, ruining your chances of ever getting off the registry due to “New” charges. As FAC points out, these are made up crimes that do not relate to ANY other group of people on Earth other than registered citizens.

In some cases, a registry violation can land you more time than your actual charge for a sex offense. Some got only probation but depending on the circumstances, a registry violation could get you prison time, for harming NO one? If that is not proof the registry is punitive, then someone, somewhere is purposely holding us down. (Thanks for nothing supreme court)

The picture accompanying the article shows at least 3 law enforcement vehicles outside a home. I am wondering if this is a photo taken from an old file from an incident that has nothing to do with this story or if this is an actual photo taken from this most recent “compliance and waste-of-money” check.
