Rep. Sensenbrenner, Champion of Sex Offender Registry, to Retire
Wisconsin Republican Rep. James Sensenbrenner, one of the most influential members of Congress on criminal justice issues, will not seek re-election next year after four decades on Capitol Hill.
In recent years, Sensenbrenner was best known in criminal justice circles for advocating the 2006 Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act, which includes the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) which established minimum baselines for states to track sex offenders.

Hello, i was wondering about 2 things
1. How can the us government enact a sex offender registry and before they enacted the law the us gov. Has done study on recidivism rates in 1994 the studies results show 9% and has done a study since 1994 and results show below 5% but they said the reason they need the registry is “high and frieghtening” rate of 80%, the us gov. Knew the truth before and still enacted the registry, thats fraud, if you don’t believe me the studies they did are on Doj’s & Smart.gov website.
2. How can they even listen to John Walsh when he was 24 yrs old he was dating 16yr old (it’s a fact) but the point is nobody even question why a 24yr old was interested and dating a 16yr old child whether they were having sex or not. Thats odd he backed John Walsh when John was interested in under age girls.
That’s interesting about John Walsh. If you have the documented evidence that would be an interesting bit to submit to several newspapers. Many of these RSO haters are themselves SO’s, just not yet caught. They need to have the light shown on them.

Though politics do play some role in this, it’s the federal money the states are a slave to. I’m pretty sure that none of these registries would exist if the Feds weren’t financially backing them.
It’s politics that determines where federal funds are going. Anything the government does is politics based.
