Shady Grady Judd at it again.
“Shady” Grady Judd, sheriff of Polk County is at it again. Another name and shame opportunity for people required to register. This time it was “Operation Trick-or-Treat” a month-long operation that resulted in the arrest of 18 out of 1449 registrants (1.2%) in Polk County for petty technical registration violations.
Way to go Grady!!! How much did that month-long operation cost tax payers? How about the cost to arrest, prosecute and imprison people for petty BS that would not be illegal but for the fact that the person is required to register. Instead of touting yourself as having a 98.8% compliance rate, you’re turning it into another name and shame opportunity? Good for you!

“You know what all kinds of things get in soiled underwear, right? Sometimes you think you’re passing gas and you’re not. You can’t trust a fart when you’re over 60.“
Sheriff Grady Judd, in press conference, June 2020
(I’d include the link but too many arrestees’ names in the article. Google it if you like).
FAC,
What is the URL for this article? Please include all sources with your posts.
JZ – google Grady Judd Operation Trick-or-treat. it’s on a few news outlets. this post is original content. We didn’t include a post to an article that names the defendants who have been arrested but not convicted.
Understood
Don’t get this confused with the child porn sting days before. What’s sad here most these SO are displaced living in motels and unemployed and the registry is used to target, stalk, and harass free citizens for what otherwise is non criminal behavior to keep fat dripping around the court scene as non of these men have been proven dangerous. They prey on the poor as usual who wouldn’t be poor except the disadvantage of the registry. These laws need to be changed to “fine based” unless in the commission of another crime which should be enhancements. Sadly PCJ will have 18 beds filled 6-12 months next year through vindictive prosecution. Our constitutional rights are being violated as we are lifetime suspects under surveillance and investigation year round not for sex crimes but they act as probation officers which to me violates due process overreaching all aspects with the same government arm. Guess the registry is working as designed to make second class citizens.
Well said and truth.
I guess law enforcement considers a 1.2% rate a success? In my line of work a 1.2% hit rate will get you unemployed faster than Ron Book in his Ferrari after a dozen martinis. And that’s pretty fast.. But yea. I’m so glad I dont live in pasco country. I’m glad it’s ok to waste 10s of thousands of dollars with nothing to show for it. Alsmot sounds like the way Congress spends money.
Lamborghini, but point taken
1.2% includes non-sex violations, actual success rate may’ve been 0, no sex offense prevented or discovered.
I think we can be certain it was 0% or it would have been front page news.
And to be fair, these “checks” can never really be for $EX offenses. Why would law enforcement criminals wait for some “operation” in order to investigate and/or arrest someone for a $EX crime? Those should be handled as they occur and can be. No “operation” needed or useful.
Having said that, it is funny that America is wasting all of these resources tracking, checking, arresting, etc., etc., etc. a bunch of stuff that doesn’t matter AT ALL! What a pathetic country it takes to do all of this.
If I’m ever arrested for ANYTHING related to Registries, some really, really bad things are going to happen. I made a promise to myself and I keep those. Some people would just accept it but that’s not possible for me. I’ve drawn some lines in the sand.
I’m in the same position as you. My hard line is drawn and going over it carries server and life altering consequences for both sides of the law. I only hope they don’t ever have to find out how far I’m willing to go to change their course.
I’ve altered their lives and continuing to do so. I’m not going to let them alter mine in any significant way. This is a war they’ve already lost. They can keep piling on their losses if they want.
It doesn’t matter how much the cost is lol it’s not coming out of their pocket but the tax payers which includes us. This is to keep everyone happy around the court houses and it’s well known don’t you dare defend a man who’s constitutional rights are being violated unless you want called like the lawyer from Tampa “Chester the defender of molesters” lol.
See attached proof of the kinda Defence you get after they arrest your ass for nothing.

This first comment made my week.
The second, my month.
Thank you FAC.
Grady Jugghead is the high sheriff of Polk County…just outside Disney (aka the Happiest Place on Earth). So do the math there.
He is definitely one of the sheriff’s that use the feelings based police with vs the evidence based. Legislature does the same thing. If there is a crime, punishment is warranted but these scare tactics, psychologically warfare even is just wrong. Everyone suffers, victims, RCs, the general public who believe the lies that are told. It’s horrible.
And actually the article I sent in was a new operation called :
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office dubbed the effort “Operation Guardians of Innocence: Fall Haul.”
These perverts are limited to male and they’re targeting our children online, or they’re watching child pornography online,” said Sheriff Grady Judd.
The 17 suspects face a total of 626 charges, 624 of which are felonies.
Was this the sting that included two Disney employees and a UCF student? Reason I ask is because the sheriff was quoted saying something about this sting and how it’s his mission to keep sex offenders compliant(or something to that effect) and yet none of the people arrested were in the registry. I was appalled at his blatant lie of a statement.
Yes. I guess they did not post my link because it showed the photos of the men and F.A.C did not want to further drag them through the mud.
No, this operation was only technical violations…unregistered cars, actual living location violations, internet identifiers ect..
The one I posted to F.A.C that they did not post was the one she is in fact speaking of. it was a month long investigation called
Operation Guardians of Innocence: Fall Haul.” by the same sheriff and it just wrapped up
